and homes are damaged. there have been no reports of any serious injuries. right now, the concern is where hermine is headed next. it will move up the east coast with potential port -- for deadly flooding. we are covering all angles of the storms impact up and down the coast come including what this could mean for the last big weekend of the year at the beach. eileen whelan has the latest on the storm track. right: the heaviest rain now falling in parts of georgia, south carolina and even into north carolina just on the northern fringe of norfolk. right now in d.c., it is beautiful. we will get our next update at 2:00.

65 miles per hour. it will continue moving towards the no -- the northeast. it will continue moving towards stallstheast, then before new england. a lot of strong wind and some heavy rain at the beaches. we have new information that just came in with in the last hour. a tropical storm warning is now in effect for southern maryland. as you head into the beaches, ocean city. we could have strong wind gusts. st. mary's, leonardtown, lexington park, winds gusting to 40 miles per hour saturday and sunday. gusts along the beaches, especially in ocean city. would not know anything is going on if you stepped out the door right now. it is just delightful.

around 80 degrees. clouds will be thickening as we get into the afternoon and evening. let's see how the storm has been impacting parts of the south. millions of americans are bracing for impact today as tropical storm hermine moves inland. made this morning, hermine landfall as a hurricane in florida, the first in more than a decade. it ripped through houses along the panhandle. embraced -- braced for rivers and the roadways, for others, it is a disaster. georgia's governor declaring a state of emergency. 45,000 georgians already without power.

and had out in the morning. we are concerned about the heavy rain that is going to come tomorrow. we will keep our eye on it. >> many of the streets here in ocean city do tend to flood. that is a major concern. power outages also another problem. officials have been talking to other jurisdictions to bring in other crews just in case. alreadythat has experienced a lot of weather-related issues come including the flooding and a tornado confirmed last month. let's get a check of the roadways. a lot of people may be heading out of town for this holiday weekend. if you are trying to cross the bay bridge and may be heading to the beach -- it is not going to be a great weekend for it, but if you are, we will update that for you. slowing

the app store. and connect with us on facebook and twitter. this morning's rush hour proved to be more hassle for some commuters. a station shut down because of falling debris. sam sweeney has details from that station in northeast d.c. >> it is a friday afternoon. the gates are locked. the trains are not stopping. passengers are told to ride shuttle buses. >> it is frustrating. week, concrete and a metal bracket fell from the ceiling. closedtion briefly wednesday, then reopened again on thursday morning. late thursday night, even more concrete fell. >> it is out of their control. the main thing is they are trying to fix it, which is good.

everything straight in a quicktime so we can get back to work. >> metro says the station is safe, but they are having a third party contractor check the station from top to bottom. commuters will be put on shuttle buses to the brookline station. this station closure is not affecting metro red line trains. they are running on schedule. as for the rhode island metro station, they hope to have it open by saturday morning. along with that disruption, you should be ready for more traffic on the rails this weekend. run on thees will orange and blue lines along some sections of the track. on the silverlight, trains will only run to ballston. the red line will also run every 6-20 minutes. you can expect delays across the board.

around lunchtime, we start to dry out a bit here. along the coast, that is where we still have the heavy rain and gusty winds. may see more rain backed in on sunday morning while we are sleeping. we start to see the winds lesson by sunday along the shore. here at home, it will not be all that bad. bring a sweater or sweatshirt. labor day weekend, we usually think of hot, sticky weather. temperatures only in the 70's tomorrow. the d.c. blues festival tomorrow. cool, breezy, relatively cloudy. should be rain free. this is all from the kennedy center -- the concert itself is on the west lawn of the capital.
