brings us the latest. >> montgomery county authorities have been on scene throughout much of the morning. this took place around 6:50 this morning. a toyota camry struck a man crossing the street, heading to a bus stop. there were several witnesses here. >> i was hearing the car speeding. and i saw something flying. i looked over and saw the guy standing -- laying there. >> the man was transported to a hospital, where he died. authorities continue to investigate. no charges have been filed. in montgomery county, suzanne kennedy. back to you. jummy: a messy morning that is

foxhall road, making the commute a hassle for some drivers. john gonzalez is on scene with the latest. john: gas crews have been out here since 5:30 this morning. that is when the first call came out for the smell of gas. they are working as quickly as possible. the morning rush-hour was a mess and they don't want it to happen again this evening. a busy area near american university. you can see the work. they have been using heavy machinery to dig up foxhall road and get to the gas line to find what caused the leak and to first and foremost, stop the leak. customers in the area have not been affected. the traffic has been. southbound lanes on foxhall road

traffic in both directions through. traffic controllers have been out here, trying to get folks around. it was a slow morning. this afternoon, they are trying to get everything up and running. the cause is under investigation. crews got the call at 5:30 and have been working on the gas leak repair ever sense -- ever since. jummy: let's take it outside for a look at the forecast. after a week of summerlike temperatures, we are back to fall. doug hill is here with a look at the forecast. doug: a pleasant fall weather pattern now. this will bring in dry air. it will have increasing sunshine

's story. she visited the fraternity house in question by asking to use the bathroom. the magazine is being sued by uva administrator, who claims she was made a villain in that article. taking a look around the nation, ntsb officials are in california trying to find out what caused a tour bus to crash into a semi-, killing 30 others. investigators say the bus was traveling at a higher rate of speed than the truck, leading to one of the deadliest crashes in that state's history. >> i have never been to a crash where there have been 13 confirmed fatalities. it is tough for all of us. jummy: it is not known if alcohol, drugs, or fatigue paid

mechanical problems or accidents. investigation is underway. now, to the fight to take back mosul. iraqi and kurdish forces continued to close in on the city. militants set off suicide car bombs to distract forces from moving forward. the operation is expected to take weeks, if not months. lawmakers blasting the pentagon for forcing thousands of guardsmen to repay improperly paid reenlistment bonuses from a decade ago. they were paid to around 10,000 guardsmen to reenlist, but the amounts were deemed excessive. some service members say they had to repay the money. kevin mccarthy calls than the

howard. >> the video showing the officer in the cruiser for a ride along. the driver takes off and the officer chases after the suspects. the woman in the cruiser screams as the squad car is about to come under fire. watch, just as corner, you can see the gunfire. someone from the passenger side shooting a dozen times. three of the bullets hitting and disabling the police cruiser, forcing the police officer to end the dispute. the police officer sharing the videos of the window shattered. police, like other departments
