residents' fault. q: no, it isn't. they paid all their bills. i spoke to management and they told me all the utility bills were paid in full since it took over in february. they blame the board of directors that was in charge before february for this massive unpaid power bill, which is now more than $400,000. pepco came out this afternoon a little bit before 1:00 and shut off power to both buildings. when that hap buildings unfit. you can see the u-haul trucks. people are moving out as we speak. the people you are looking at now have a place to go. they are moving in with family. but many people have nowhere to go. the other one is on the run. an empty parking garage is the scene of the shooting that happened after noon. residents nearby told us they heard a crash and then gunshots. >> i just heard a gunshot. the first one was loud and woke me up. then i think two or three more. >> they next heard a car own blare for a long time as the responding officers converged on the scene. >> on scene, they found a male victim sff wounds. he was rushed to the hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries. sam: same time they put two schools, carlos mesa -- jessie b. mason school and jessie hillcrest heights elementary school on lockdown. they canvassed the area but the suspect remains at large. and so the schools have been, the lockdown have been lifted on the school. school is out here right now.

the mall itself, you ask people about this. they never knew about it. this area is so isolated that it happened at the iverson mall. but nobody in the mall knew anything about it. reporting live from prince george's county i'm sam ford, abc7 news. michelle: thank you. happening now, testimony in the david black murder trial, he is charged in the murder of his wife bonnie in arlington. abc7 cameras rolling while he walked away from the crime scene. that was a look a year ago. maryland bureau chief jeff goldberg has details from inside the courtroom today. jeff, bonnie black's mother took the stand today. what did she have to say? jeff: well, she had a lot. the trial going on. betty ann armstrong was the first witness this morning and said two years prior to the murder of bonnie black is when the relationship between bonnie and david started to

bonnie began to feel threatened by the demeanor, the action and the words by david black. his insistence to see the children. betty ann said, "my daughter was afraid for her life." and she testified on the day of the murder of bonnie black, april 17, 2015, bonnie was supposed to travel to pennsylvania to see her mother betty ann, to relax and regroup a few days before the divorce trial was set to begin. back tears and said that the trip never happened. also david black in the courtroom today. he was active in the testimony of betty ann armstrong. he was moving around quite a bit, often shaking his head when betty ann was speaking, writing notes and speaking to his attorneys quickly. he was active and taking issue with what betty ann armstrong had to say about her account of what was happening in their marriage through the separation process.

courtroom to see what is going on now and i'll have an update at 5:00 and tell you about a video that was played for the jury today that seemed to make an impact. until 5:00, jeff goldberg, abc7 news. jonathan: thank you. two people dead and four others wounding after a shooting in freight car america at roanoke. the gunman is one of the two that was killed because police say he took his life after the shooting. the others wounded, three are in hospital. nearby high soo ongoing investigation kept things busy. in gaithersburg, police are searching for a person who shot a man inside his home. it happened in the 7900 block of muncaster mill road. it's unclear if the gunman was allowed in or he broke in. we spoke to neighbors who say the house is known for hosting a number of parties. but last night they say it was quiet. until they heard the gunshots.
