see northwestern high school and some woods. 14-year-old owens was on her way to school when she was abducted. her body found the next day in those woods. >> it makes me feel as though my life, my child's life wasn't worth very much. sam: angela wood with family and friends stood in front of the forested area next to northwestern high school where her 14-year-old daughter's body was found she was rape and murdered on the way to school. it wasn't until 14 years after her death that police with the d.n.a. match arrested matthew bethea, now 39 being incarcerated seven years. tomorrow bethea will go before the parole board to be possibly released next year. the mother gives a graphic description of what happened to her daughter. >> it was his d.n.a. in her mouth who strangled my

inside her uterus and that has not been locate and there is no talk of finding the second person who helped kill my child as well. sam: no match on the second person and bethea hasn't talked. because the case is so old, prosecutors offered and he took what is called an alford plea. with good behavior he is up for parole after seven years. the mother is outraged. >> after taking the life of someone who had a he gets to come out and be free to do it again? something is wrong. >> a beautiful girl. we did everything together. i took her to hawaii, puerto rico, brazil. all the things that we planned for our children. sam: bethea goes before the parole board in hagerstown, maryland tomorrow. angela wood says she will also be before the board urging them not to grant parole. reporting live from the

jonathan: thanks. a live-in nanny in jail accused of killing the child she was paid to protect. police say that oluremi oyindasola forcefully poured two bottles of milk in an 8-month-old girls mouth. now it happened monday afternoon in glenarden. after the investigators say the child's crying woke the nanny from the nap. the medical examiner says the baby died of asphyxiation. the care-giver is facing murder and child abuse charges. maureen: trump was off the campaign trail this morning. he and his family cut the ribbon at the grand opening of the d.c. hotel bearing his name. [applause] despite the celebration inside, anti-trump protesters demonstrated outside the old post office on pennsylvania avenue. meanwhile in florida, one of the hotel's former partners campaigned for hillary clinton.

jonathan: burned out tents are all the remain of a refugee camp called "the jungle" in northern france. migrants forced out by french authorities torched the encampment as they were leaving. no reports of injuries or deaths because of the fires but the camp grew in size as great britain refused to let the channel. they said the number of the people living in the camps up to 10,000. france is relocating the migrants to other part of the country. maureen: another major shift in the u.s. policy toward cuba. for the first time the u.s. has not voted against a united nations regulation condemning the u.s. economic embargo against cuba. the u.s. opposed the vote for 25 years. today it obtained. president obama eased

rejected the call to lift the embargo. jonathan: ash carter is trying to rescind the effort to make national guards men pay signing bonus. he added that many soldiers newell or should have known they were ineligible for the bonus award a decade ago. he vowed to resolve the cases by july 1 next year. maureen: the naacp is calling for federal investigation in an incident involving a noose authorities are investigating charges that white teammates put a noose around the neck of a black football player. the coach of the team said the incident was reported immediately and several players were kicked off the team. one student has been disciplined for violating the school's code of conduct. jonathan: a church is concerned about a construction near historic cemetery disturbing sacred ground.

maureen: a $14 million fire station is up and running in glenmont. montgomery county officials say the state-of-the-art facility will save lives shortening response times. the facility also has comfort for firefighters to recover after making calls. the fire station replaces one built in the 1950's. jonathan: we have an for you. salvation army and churches are stepping in to help the soon to be former residents of the condominiums in temple hills. they are providing meals and moving arrangements. this complex had $500,000 in unpaid bills. prompting pepco to shut the power off. that has made two buildings unsafe to live. they say the unpaid bill is from the previous management
