jonathan: we follow breaking news from o'hare airport. an american airlines plane caught fire prompting emergency response and the evacuation of the flight. michelle marsh is in the satellite center with the latest for us. michelle: at last check, eight people are hurt as a result of the fire. that clouds seven passengers and one flight attendant. we are now hearing from some of the passengers. one man describes it as crying as you might expect. he says he saw flames out his window when he turned around and everyone rushed off the plate. some thought the plane was going to blow up. the american airlines flight on the way from chicago to miami. early reports indicate the plane blew a tire and damaged the engine.

announcer: you're watching "abc7 news at 6:00". on your side. maureen: police are investigating what is called the hate-based vandalism at a high school in montgomery county. on october 13, someone drew an image of a swastika on the football field at quints orchard nokia gaithersburg. police are now looking for a dark-colored sedan driven in the school's parking lot before the incident. political talk is about f.b.i. looking into the e-mails with hillary clinton. today republican senator mark kirk apologizing for a controversial comment he made in last night's senate debate. here is what kirk said after democratic challenger, an iraqi war veteran who lost both legs in combat talked about dangers of war. >> families like mine are the ones that need first. but let's make sure americans understand what we are

and bed bugs are some of the violation found at an apartment complex in silver springs that has county leaders demanding changes. ryan hughes has the story. ryan: he and his young family are sleeping in an apartment with mold on the walls. he did not want to appear on come ra but he showed up the health issue only feet from his son's dead. on the other side of the building at the northwest park apartments in silver spring, anna i and mice. in spanish she says living in these conditions is affecting the health of her two kids suffering with allergies. with pressure from the tenant and the county council they did a full inspection of every unit in the complex and came back with 2200 violations. >> you find 2200 violations. that means that this has been going on for a long time. >> the inspection was done last month. according to the report the

can't wait to get started. let me tell you the weather story here. 60 degrees. sun has been down for a few minutes. northwesterly winds down to ten. we had a wind gust this morning at 11:00 or so at reag national. 44 miles per hour. it's a steady diminishing of the winds all day. number wise tonight through the everything we will drop in the 50's. if you are headed out, the winds will continue to diminish. a jacket and a sweater is good heading across the metro through the evening hours. we look at the numbers tomorrow morning it will be but no frost. we won't be to that level. 40 in germantown. 42 in aspen hill. 40 in largo. 41 in ashburn. through the day tomorrow plenty of sunshine. the winds turn southwest. 5 to 10 miles per hour. that will boost the temperatures up to 73. so that is a good, nearly ten degrees above average for day. we are not finish with the warming trend. it will continue. get you into sunday morning for marine corps marathon. starts at 7:55.

they will climb through the morning with sunshine. and southwest and eventually westerly winds to bring in warmer air and it will be 74 by 1:00 p.m. may hit the mid-70's by the midafternoon. the forecast is simple. this is the last time i get to see the dancing mummy until next year. temperatures are dropping to we have a warming trend coming next week. maureen: tonight "7 on your side" is tracking the tax dollars. not a secret that it's expensive to drive in d.c.
