administration. the former house speaker was a high profile surrogate for trump in the campaign, and now he tells the "washington post" he's not serving in the cabinet in any position. this was the president-elect meeting with japan's prime minister in new york city. it was trump's first meeting with a foreign leader since the election. shinzo abe called the meeting ca candid. trump's daughter and husband were involved in the meeting as well as you can see here. in the past, trump that trump should contribute more to the cost of basing u.s. troops there. >> president obama is urging donald trump to stand strong against russia if or when it violates democratic values. during the final overseas trip of his administration, mr. obama is also trying to reassure worried european leaders saying he believes the u.s. will honor its promises to nato under donald trump's presidency.
