first pick for a cabinet member. the backlash over who he is choosing to stand by his side continues. his team announcing this morning the first member of trump's cabinet, jeff sessions. the alabama senator has been offered the position of attorney general. sessions was the first gop senator to endorsed trump during the primary. trump releasing a statement saying he's been unbelievably impressed with him sessions could face a challenging confirmation in the senate. in 1986, he was blocked from becoming a district judge over racially charged comments. >> the country is very concerned about diversity. senator sessions could have a real problem getting approval by the senate. >> another appointee facing resistance, michael flint. just named national security

republican national convention, he incited the infamous "lock her up" chant about hillary clinton. he says he is deeply concerned that -- mike pompeo of kansas as director of the cia. trump also plans to meet with mitt romney over the weekend. heated words over the past and the meeting is supposed to be all about mending fences. jummy: today, a judge could decide whether to delay a civil trial involving the now defunct trump university until after the inauguration. according to the new york daily news, trump is close to settling the lawsuit by pinkley $5 million. trump will not admit to any wrongdoing.

let's turn to the weather. the weekend is about to start. here is a live look outside of the capital. temperatures will be unseasonably warm today. don't get used to it. doug hill is here with a look at the forecast for us. doug: the next 48 hours, we will see a dramatic transition in the weather pattern. rockville, already 62 degrees, clear, blue skies. if you have plans outdoors the next few hours, low to mid 60's. most areas near 70 degrees, may be a couple of spots. this afternoon, 70 is our number. winds out of the south at five miles per hour. here come the changes. strong cold front commission hours coming up through missouri and chicago.

and here is the timing. through the day tomorrow, sunshine through early afternoon. clouds roll in and 4:30, we should see the front move through with rain showers and gusty wind and behind that front , guilt force winds along the chesapeake bay and lower potomac, snow could accumulate in the mountains on sunday. we will be cold and windy. it will feel like winter. jummy: are weather may seem like spring break in colorado -- investigators are trying to determine if the snowfall in beaverbrook led to a 20 car accident on interstate 70. both sides of that highway were shut down for hours. there were no injuries in that multivehicle crash.

victim -- the youngest victim was 18 months old. another person dead, just five years old. and the two parents inside this fairly large home in this rural area in stafford county. some of the neighbors say nothing ever like this could be imagined in this quite area. we do not know when this murder suicide took place. police first discovered these bodies yesterday morning. out to this house in the first place. earlier today, a man pulled up in a pickup truck, put two no trespassing signs on the driveway and brought the garbage cans in. grief counselors are on hand at nearby rockville elementary school. jummy: we have just learned the names of the victims.

buckley, abigail buckley and the shooter, lance buckley. more on this story on wjla.com. the man who shot and killed a three-year-old two years ago has been found guilty. davon wallace was convicted of murder last night. in 2014, he fired several shots at a home in landover after an argument, killing a three-year-old. he now faces up to 55 years behind bars. in montgomery county are expecting shock this afternoon after a former teacher was charged with sex abuse. >> we understand that the staff here will be holding a meeting for parents on monday night to discuss this disturbing situation. this has been a below here for

today, john vigna is once again behind bars facing new charges. he was arrested at his home yesterday for a second time. the charges include one count of sexual abuse of a minor and four counts of third-degree sex offense. more allegations from victims, new victims coming forward. a woman in her 20's now claiming that john vigna sexually assaulted her when she was a student here 15 years ago. reporting separate incidents that occurred here at the school in the past two to three years. originally arrested back in june. those: 11-year-old girls claiming he grabbed them inappropriately on separate occasions. he teachers and spent to one. many cannot believe it. >> we've all known john vigna for years. we gave him the benefit of the doubt. it is really shattering to me.

about the environmental impact of the deepwater horizon oil spill. some new maps show a dramatic loss of shoreline in louisiana. the maps come from nasa and the usgs. it shows the shoreline receded at quadruple the rate before the spill. when that happens, the soil is more prone to erosion. home, covering metro now, new safety concerns are causing the transit agency to pull a number of its 4000 series cars out of service. suzanne kennedy has more. >> we had seen mostly these trains -- very few of them with 4000 series cars. they had them positioned at the rear of the train.
