"dancing with the stars," we'll have a recap of last night's tremendous action in the skinny. it is tuesday, november 22nd. from abc news, this is "world news now." >> good morning, everyone. i'm diane macedo. >> i'm kendis gibson. thanks for being here with us. we want to start with that tragic news, the school bus crash in tennessee, and the breaking news overnight. the 24-year-old driver under arrest facing multiple counts of vehicular homicide. >> here's the scene in chattanooga where the bus carrying 35 elementary students hit a tree monday afternoon. authorities say at least five children were killed. >> school will be in session today with grief counselors on hand. mean tile, an ntsb team is on the way to the scene. >> reporter: 35 young students from kindergarten to the fifth grade tossed around when the school bus crashed, not all survived.

>> reporter: more than four or five. >> i would assume, but can't confirm. >> reporter: they worked for minutes, turning into hours to get the kids out, 23 sent to the hospital. a mile from the school, ran off a road, slamming into trees, ending up on its side, a father carrying his son away from the scene. >> this is every public safety professional's worst nightmare. >> reporter: it was a single vehicle accident. the bus driver survived and is cooperating with the police. another crash contributing to the debate, should all school busses have seat belts? as simulations show what happens in a rollover accident. there was a call for blood donations with so many injured, but there are parents grieving because their children, their students will not be coming home. abc news, washington. >> horrible situation there.

that millions are facing on this busy travel week. >> another bus accident. this time in upstate new york. in this case, though, the weather was definitely a factor. one of three busses carrying high school students from rochester or a suburb nearby to new york city overturned on a snowy interstate 81. the bus swerved to avoid cars out of control, nine students taken to the hospital, but no major injuries there. >> in new hampshire, two died in separate accidents on the roads, both drivers e ejected from their vehicles. in one of the accidents, c >> the weather focus now turns to the midwest with another storm that could complicate holiday travel. >> let's check in with accuweather for the latest forecast. >> good morning. we'll see improving conditions across the northeast as the winds taper off as well as lake effect snow. however, a storm system moving in the great lakes region bring winter ri precipitation in the lakes area as well as heavy rain in the central plains. as we head into the busiest travel day of the year, we'll see very cloudy and wet

trump is also coming under scrutiny for business dealings in the u.k. after the election, he met with a british politician, a leading voice of the leader of brexit, and a source says trump encouraged him to oppose offshore wind farms. trump tried and failed to block the wind farms to keep that from spoiling views from his golf courses in scotland, so the report suggests he may be trying to use the power of the presidency for personal gain. he fired off a tweet clearly annoyed with the press for raising questions about potential blurred lines between his businesses and future presidency. he wrote, prior to the election, it was well-known that i have interests in properties all over the world, only the crooked media makes this a big deal. hillary clinton appears to be possibly keeping a post-election promise to herself. >> remember the former democratic presidential nominee said last week after losing the

a 7.4 earthquake triggered a tsunami off the coast of northern japan this morning. the waves were as high as 4.5 feet. the quake struck in the same area that was devastated in 2011. only minor injuries and damage this time and no damage to the nuclear plant there. the warnings now lifted. in texas, the man suspected of murdering a san antonio police deticktive said he's sorry. he was involved in a custody battle and he was mad at society for not letting him see his son. he admitted he quoted there, lashed out at somebody who didn't deserve it. he's charged with capital murder. authorities in north dakota defend their use of water hoses on pipeline protesters in
