in this horrific crash. new details outlined in court documents allege the driver of the mangled school bus was speeding, causing walker to lose control, serve left and right crashing into a pole and a tree. >> a horror story, just totally tragic scene, and we saw the children, some of them, escaping through the r >> reporter: one of the boys on the bus said the driver did not help and just walked away from the scene. >> everything just started turning, like the bus turned twice. >> reporter: some parents are concerns. >> there's been times he's going faster than he probably should have. >> reporter: ntsb investigators from d.c. are now in tennessee to get to the bottom of this. >> the totality of the situation, we'll try to determine what caused this and try to make recommendations to

>> reporter: reviewing a warrant issued to remove the black box and video cameras from the bus for clues, and they are also awaiting blood test results from the driver. >> with the children still recovering here, we are now learning that 24-year-old only got his license to drive that bus in april and just two months ago, he was in another crash which ntsb officials said they are looking into as part of the investigation. kendis, diane? >> elizabeth, thank you. a lot of questions left to be answered in that case, but severe weather is said to cause severe travel issues today. >> travelers in the midwest and northwest are most likely to see weather-related delays today. we'll get the forecast in just a moment, but it's also going to be crowded out there whether you go by road or air. look at some of these highways scenes there, oh, the memories. >> already? >> we are joined now with that story. >> too early for that much

today's going to be a bad day, no matter how you're traveling, but there's good news and bad news. thanksgiving travel hits a nine-year high according to aaa. that means more people getting out and spending the holiday with family, good news, right? with all that comes those traveling headaches. if you're not already at your holiday destination, you may end up wishing you were. if you're planning to drive today, you could see the standstill traffic jams. aaa estimates 43.5 million americans will drive at least miles. the worst day is today to get behind the wheel, and the big concern today is weather moving in this morning making driving worse. slick roads from minneapolis to new orleans. winter weather advisories issued in minnesota and wisconsin with snow in areas where state troopers already responded to more than 200 wrecks following the first blizzard of the season. if you are driving, experts say get on the road before 10:00

through bringing widespread rainfall from chicago to cleveland and louisville. watch for delays there. in the north, it's cold enough it's snowing, in duluth and minneapolis. slow go there. for the holiday itself, it's looking good, green means go. other than delays in the pacific northwest and northeast. back to you. >> thank you, cam. breaking news from detroit where another police officer has been shot. the wayne state university officer, colin rose, is fighting for his life at this hour after officials said rose was patrolling an area offam pus when the attack took place. a perp of interest is in custody and is being interrogated. rose is at least the fifth officer shot on duty across this country just since the weekend. the suspect charged in the ambush-style fatal shooting of a san toep owe police officer got married the day after the attack. all of this according to court documents. it appears that otis may have been trying to keep his wife

him. the d.a. says any conversations before the shooting would be admissible. funeral services held for the murdered officer next week. a post-election surge for stocks as three averages open at record highs this morning. the dow starts above 19,000 for the first time ever. it's closed at a record high six times now in the two weeks since donald trump's election. markets are closed tomorrow for thanksgiving and will close early on friday. also on the economic front, a requirement for 4 million workers to get overtime pay. the obama administration sought to raise the amount of money workers could make from nearly $24,000 to nearly $47,000 before being exempt from overtime. 21 states challenged the rule, and a federal judge in texas pushed the effective date back as he awaits a challenge to the rule. so many try to find different uses for drones, and,

flying through the airings that's david at a red bull's concert race in 2014. >> you can't think about it and just go, go, go. >> reporter: a year after winning the race, he suffered a head injury in a bike accident while riding home from work. he was not wearing a helmet. after clinging to life for three weeks, nancy made the heart breaking decision to let him go. ? it was all meant i think he knew. >> reporter: dave chose to be an organ donor and a perfect match forever a surgery 15 years later. the volunteer firefighter and father from mississippi ran into a burning house searching for survivors when the roof collapsed. he was lucky to survive. the fire robbed him of his

>> take off your ears for me please. >> reporter: desperation led him to nyu's medical center. the pioneering surgeon in the emerging field of face transplants had been looking for the perfect patient, and pat was the one. it takes 12 hours to remove the donor's face, and in operating rooms across the city, four other patients prepped for life saving operations, and among those saved on this young boys, and a 58-year-old woman all desperately waiting for transplants. every day, 22 americans die waiting for a life saving transplant. nationally, only 50% of eligible adults are registered as organ donors. >> it's been more than a year? >> yes. >> reporter: it's been a tough year for nancy while she was grieving her son's death, she was also battling cancer. now nancy is going to meet the people whose lives were saved by
