sunshine across our nation's midsection today for black friday shoppers there, but still shopping in the northwest is dealing with snow and rain in northern california. and rain will be in the forecast across the northeast as well. dreary skies ahead nor this area and even in northern maine. we are looking at snow. as we head into the weekend, though, the eastern half of the country will be dealing with sunshine and dry conditions, and it's out west where we see a potent storm system bringing in cooler some welcomed rain, especially into california. from seattle down to san diego, rain this weekend and most of the rainfall right along the coastline and that rainfall is through sunday as well. back to you. >> all right, thank you, caption. get this, a california woman who disappeared earlier this month while out for a jog has been found alive and is now back home with family. sherri papini, described by friends as supermom and would never abandon their children, so

from day care november 2, her disstraugt husband reported her missing, triggering a search turning up little until yesterday when she was found on the side of a country road. >> she was bound with restraints, but was able to s summon help. >> reporter: looking for two hispanic females armed with a handgun and dark colored suv. no details where she was held or why she was abducted virginia gathered to remember james means shot to death after bumping into a man. they held marches and vigils for the 15-year-old teen. william pulliam charged with first degree murder in the death. his wife claimed he acted in self-defense. james was black. fbi is investigating if it was a hate crime. he was not legally allowed to own a gun because of a domestic

wildfires forcing thousands out of their homes. drought and arson being blamed for the fires. about 130 people treated for injuries caused by the flames. france is sending fire fighting planes to battle the wildfires, and crews from russia, turkey, and greece are already on the scene there. in the u.s., crews are still battling wildfires across the southeast. more than 16,000 acres have been carolina, hardest hit. crews spent thanksgiving day trying to contain the flames, some of which have been caused by arson. investigators have arrested several people as a result of the fires. dallas won, for my friends in dfw, they are really excited right now. we had a triple serving of nfl action on thanksgiving. detroit lions came from behind
