daughter. the 82-year-old woman's niece and tidy pasadena home is already decorated for the holidays. but the only activity there today is a crime scene clean-up crew doing its sad job. the neighbor that requested anonymity said the neighborhood is saddened by what happened. >> very upset. she would do anything for anybody. >> anne arundel county police got the call early yesterday morning for the family violence. victim stabbed multiple times they say by her 20-year-old grand daughter savannah weaver. weaver was taken into custody and hospitalized after police heard the bizarre motive. >> she said one of the reasons that she cut up her grandmother was to cut demons out from inside of her. brad: a man who is a family member declines to speak with us. the neighbor says the 82-year-old victim was giving her troubled grand daughter a

battled mental illness. >> it is a tragedy. horrible. mental illness. it is just horrible. brad: well, the grand daughter weaver is hospitalized undergoing emergency psychiatric evaluation. police say that when she is released she will be charged with attempted second of degree murder. at the police district in pasadena, maryland, brad bell, abc7 new say a man killed his wife this morning. martinez is in custody charged with murder and accused of stabbing diaz in a parking lot in diablo court in alexandria. a person heard screaming at 5:00. when she looked outside she saw the victim on the ground. larry: three weeks after the presidential election, there are new developments. the first is that donald trump has won michigan. michigan, certifying the votes today making the final electoral tally in the

michelle: breaking news out of georgetown where northbound i-270 turned into a virtual parking lot. they are seeing a lot of taillights after a two-car crash at the interchange with father hurley boulevard. there are only minor injuries reported. the crash has been moved to the side. we are seeing signs of progress. as you can see it's still causing significant backups there. jamie sullivan has a complete look at the traffic situation for the area. we will check in with her in woman missing for three weeks is back with her family tonight. michelle: the woman says she was kidnapped but as lauren lister explains the investigators still have more questions than answers. lauren: today, the hunt is on for the alleged kidnappers after a missing northern california mother who law enforcement was held captive for three weeks was discovered along this road. >> she is heavily battered.

the man of shooting and killing nine black people in a church plans to represent himself in his own trial. a judge granted dylann roof's motion to defend himself despite calling it unwise after roof was found competent to stand trial on friday. he will have defense lawyers at his bench he can consult with if he had questions. the prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. larry: police in prince george's county are looking for the person who grocery store. suzanne kennedy reports it happened at the shopper's food warehouse in hyattsville on chillum road. suzanne: we talked to the employees this morning who were shocked by what happened even before the store opened. take a look behind me. the window is now boarded up. that wasn't the case when we arrived here. take a look at the shatter glass. it's right at front door of the store. the police say the shooting
