alison: a lot of people trying to get home. moving on to other news of the day. 48 hours after becoming the scene of a crime that drew national attention, a d.c. restaurant is back open tonight. it was sunday when the armed vigilante opened fire inside the comet ping pong restaurant in northwest d.c. stephen tschida was there as the doors reopen today. i understand that you spoke to the owner. what do you have to say? is targeted. he believes it's with the association of john podesta, hillary clinton's chief of staff that people got ahold of the e-mails that went to wikileakss. the conspiracy theory was born. throughout the day, people were coming by offering their support for the restaurant. we had people come early line up before the doors open at 5:00. just before the doors opened, james, the owner came out and talked about his reaction to all the support.

jonathan: a close call in stafford when a v.r.e. train hit an s.u.v. the train always wins. despite damage there were no injuries reported. the trains were delayed for up to two hours as you can imagine fouled up the morning commute for thousands. alison: well, we are getting a first-hand look tonight at the new steps that metro is taking to reduce its own dela brianne carter reports the process starts on the train themselves. >> there are the common reasons for the metro delays. brake and door problems. today, abc7 got an upclose look at the enhanced measures metro is now taking to reduce them. to lower the number of the trains on the rails with brake issues metro is deploying the small device in inspections. it picks up leaks that may have been undetected.
