minutes. the much-hyped opening of the new mgm casino at national harbor lived up to the hype. so many people try to come out, the casino hit capacity in less than an hour. that had traffic backing up all the way to the beltway and beyond. john gonzalez has been at the casino since before dawn and joins us live. we are about 13 hours going in. how is it looking right now? john: just wondering, it is a $25 minimum at the table games here at the mgm. after a wild first 12 hours, we can call this round 2. it is once again very crowded at the mgm. in fact, the traffic to get into the 5000-space garage outside already wrapped around the facility. you can see the conservatory, the main atrium -- the restaurants are already very busy. this has been very busy all

it was a grand spectacle last night. there were some snags, though. in fact, there was a fight on the casino floor last night. we understand two men punched and kicked a man on the ground while onlookers just watched, right next to the slot machines. we are told this afternoon by mgm officials that it was a small altercation, that security was able to take care of clear it up even before prince george's county police arrived. we have been seeing police officers here all day long, keeping an eye on things. one man who tried to break up the fight was injured, a minor injury. he was transported to the hospital. right here is where you go into the casino. it is a capacity of 9000 people inside. the mgm reached capacity at 11:15 last night, and that is

jummy: firefighters are still on the scene at an incinerator plant in montgomery county. they have been battling the flame the fire started at a large pile of trash and then spread to a building. we are told the fire is burning but contained. so far, no injuries have been reported. it is december 9 today, just more than two weeks from christmas. that means the rush is on for the nation's shipping companies. this year both fedex and ups are predicting record numbers. sam sweeney bids at the ups

sam: early in the morning before the sun comes up, the ramp at bwi airport comes alive. three jumbo jets loaded with packages arrive before 6:30 a.m., then it is showtime. mike romano is supervising the ramp. he describes the holiday season one way. >> organized chaos. sam: ups this year will handle 70 if you're doing the math, that is 373%. >> we know what to expect. with plans in place to make sure we get it right. sam: ups hires 95,000 seasonal workers, and many of them work right here back on the ramp, where the planes are offloaded in less than 30 minutes. one hour and 10 minutes ago, these packages were in louisville, kentucky. now the rush is to get it out of this been an on these trucks so

a college student found strangled and dumped in a north carolina river. a man found nearby is now serving a life sentence for the crime, but he says he is innocent. is this another case of "making a murderer?" we understand there is dna evidence, but there is more than just that. elizabeth: there is a lot more. conviction has been taken up by the north carolina innocence project. the person in charge takes very few cases, and this is one of the few. we re-examine all the evidence that was put into trial implicating mark carver in the murder of his young, beautiful college to know the banks of the katana river in may of 2008. once you take a look at the evidence, we want the audience to watch and draw its own

innocence project -- even the judge in the murder trial, when he looks at all the evidence that we will show you tonight, has a different opinion about whether or not mark carver is guilty. no matter what you think you should give the case -- we are putting you, the audience come in the jury box tonight. you will get to draw your own conclusions on whether or not police and prosecutors presented a fair case against this man, and whether or not he should be serving the rest of his life behind ours. -- behind bars. jummy: what did the victim's family member have to say about mark carver? elizabeth: your heart goes out to the family members of murder victims in all of these stories, because their loss is so excruciating for these family members. obviously this is retraumatizing
