the city, the department, and the officer accountable for big bucks. this is officer brian trainor, trying to save terrence sterling shot him, but this $50 million lawsuit filed by the family claims that the officer used excessive force and failed to record the deadly shooting on his body camera. the september shooting sparked protests and a mans to change the district's body camera policies. tonight we read through the 20-pageawsuit which alleges that mpd failed to properly train officers to use the body cameras. early on september 11, investigator say that sterling refused to pull over his motorcycle, then slammed into the cruiser. his friends and family say the 31-year-old could not stop because the officers pulled in front of him and then shot him while he was

officials,out to mpd but they could not comment on the case because it is a pending matter. live in northwest washington, tim barber. meanwhile, washington, d.c., police department now has the most officers in the country wearing body cameras. the goal, to improve the relationship between communities and the police force. or than 2600 officers are assigned to where the cameras and will be required to turn them on when they are dispatched -- more than 2600 officers are assigned to wear the cameras. >> it is something the community has asked for. alison: body cameras are intended to increase transparency, especially in the case of officer-involved shootings and use of force. jonathan: domestic violence is the leading cause of murder and prince george's county. maryland is creating a task force to try to stop this. this

murder of a woman and her baby, the police say at the hands of the baby's father. the task force is named for the victims, neshante davis and chlo e. >> i want awareness and education to come from it. i wanted to save someone. jonathan: the task force has the goal of making recommendations to the governor and legislature and they hope to stop the next killing tied with a domestic dispute. -- six big news on metro people have been fired after the derailment at east falls church station last summer. two inspectors and supervisors were terminated. an investigation found that workers were lying on their inspection report for the derailment for stop16 inspectors are facing disciplinary action. that is about half of metro's inspectors. it ready for earlier hours on metro. next july, metro will close at 1 a.m. fridays and saturdays, open until 11 p.m.
