and bring out traditional ones to keep alive. i also want to invite friends over, i say, bring one of your traditional dishes along with recipes to share with the rest of the guests. that makes it easy. you don't have to do all the work yourself, and sharing traditional recipes from the past. it's just a great idea. of course, it is the holidays. i like to start off with a holiday cocktail. this is global. it's called the red cap. it emulates the red cap you see around this season. basically, it starts off with a shaker of ice. add an ounce and a half of good tequila. it's about an ounce and a half. >> pretty good. >> 100% blue agave, really good. we start with mexico. then we go down to india and the mediterranean. this is pomegranate juice. that's indigenous to the area. about one and a half ounces of that, and into america, we have cranberry juice.

and then blend them up, or a food processor, add sugar to it. that goes into marshmallows that are there with whipped cream whipped up. that all goes in. >> wait a minute, isn't it called a salad? >> it is. it's cranberries. no lettuce to. no lettuce in this salad. mix that up. this is crushed pineapple, adding another taste to it. ends with slivered almonds. once you mix it up, it comes out and looks just like this. very beautiful, nice taste with the almonds, pineapple, cranberries, marshmallows and everything else. it's a delicious treat. >> smells great. smells healthy. it's like a salad. >> this is from my mom, oyster stew recipe. great recipe. she learned it from the oyster bar in grand central station. would sit there, sat at the bar, watched them make the stew, and wrote down what they were doing,
