speech when a man wearing a suit and a tie fired at least eight gunshots. turkish police have fatally shot the gunman. we will update you as more information becomes available. , the suspecte accused of stabbing a man outside the dunn loring metro station is in custody. the victim is being treated for nonlife threatening injuries. wasce say a quick arrest made possible with the help of footage from metro security operations control center. suzanne kennedy has more on the events that unfolded during the morning rush-hour commute. suzanne: it has been a very unusual monday commute from metro riders who use the dunn loring station. you can see here, many were greeted by fairfax county police and metro police after one man stabbed another outside the entrance to the station. the incident took place around 7:30 a.m. it is believed the suspect, described as an african-american man, got away

authorities spend much of the morning looking at metro center for the suspect. for the most part service was uninterrupted, except for a few minutes when crime scene technicians were taking photos. riders were shocked. >> i was dumbfounded because i come this way every morning. -- there should be more safety policeman out here. >> it is a little shocking. at first i did not realize what had happened. i thought it had to do with a bag, a suspicious package may be. -- that is not something that you would expect. >> police say the man was wearing a heavy black coat and had a knife. the victim was taken to a nearby hospital. his injuries are non-life-threatening. in the and i, suzanne kennedy, abc 7 news. jummy: developing in the district, fire investigators are working to find out what started this blaze that destroyed the

anacostia river overnight. sam sweeney has the latest on that investigation. sam: mayor muriel bowser says she is devastated by the news of this overnight fire at the district yacht club. at this hour, investigators from the atf are on the scene, trying to figure out what started the fire, destroying the historic yacht club. around 3:15 this morning, flames burst from the roof of the clubhouse. within minutes, the fire had spread to all three buildings on the property. there is less to salvage this afternoon, officials calling it a complete loss. firefighters were stalled by a lack of water access and low water pressure. fire crews arrived, pumping water from the anacostia river on to the fire. members rushed to the area after a complete -- in complete shock after they learned of it. >>

been fired. in baltimore, seven people are still in the hospital after a deadly pileup on i-95 over the weekend. more than 60 vehicles involved in this rack on ice-covered roads that left dozens of people injured. two people died after a tanker rolled over and burst into flames. investigators are trying to determine the actual cause of that accident. no icy roads out there this noon , a much different look from early 71. doug hill is here with a look at our forecast at such a better day out there, doug. doug: things will stay quiet for a while with temperatures above freezing. 37 and in time. a light breeze out of the north, northwest at 7 miles per hour. we will climb another degree or so in spots. it will remain colder than average, well above freezing for the afternoon. once the sun goes down, we think with the sunshine and a little bit of a breeze, there should not be any concern for puddles of frozen water rfr

the driver who shot and killed a three-year-old boy in an apparent road rage attack. it happened over the weekend in little rock, arkansas, where a grandmother was taking her two young grandchildren on a shopping trip. when they came to a stop sign, the driver behind them honked his one because she was driving slowly, apparently. she honked back, and he fired a gun, hitting the grandson. >> this is the second time a child has been shot while traveling in a vehicle in our city. it is very, very frustrating to our police agency, as it should be to our community. jummy: that little boy died at the hospital. police are offering a $20,000 reward for anyone who provides information leading to an arrest. they believe the killer was driving in a 2003 black chevy impala. in florida, a remarkable rescue caught on camera. a
