we know that the chase started in southeast, the 1800 block of gainesville street, and ended here in springfield nearly springfield interchange. the suspect and a small child was found. this is video captured just 30 minutes ago by sky track 7, over the scene. the driver led the police on a chase through d.c. and virginia, then backed into a police cruiser before taking off into this area. that is when an officer sustained minor injuries trying to get out of the way. the suspect has not been identified and at this time we do not know the charges. live in springfield, anna-lysa gayle, abc 7 news. jonathan: something into the newsroom now come a disturbing investigation going on in chicago. four people have been taken into custod

the police are calling a video of torture. investigators say that an adult man with mental health issues is the victim in the case. he was held up to two days. at some point, the torture was being broadcast on facebook alive. in victim was found, listed stable condition at the hospital. stick with abc 7 and wjla.com for updates. alison: that's awful. developing now, we are always told if you see something, say something. that led to an unusual investigation in d.c. a woman on a hike found a violin case with guns inside. of the shocking find in the widening investigation about where they came from. tim barber joins us with the search happening now. what's the latest on this? tim: it is a big mystery tonight.

with a person who lives nearby and spot at the officers in the parking lot and scattered in the woods. what caused the commotion. the violin case, right here on this concrete barrier. pictures of a violin case with guns inside being inspected by investigators and dogs. >> i was on the river the whole time. tim: this freelance photographer took the pictures. >> i moved further back. the u.s. park police say that a woman who was hiking discovered the case and called it in. >> this is canal road. the potomac is on the other side. and this woods here, is where the woman spotted the violin case. why it was here, no one knows for stop investigator shut down the road to search the area, where they discovered more guns.

now, all investigators can say for sure is they are glad somebody who saw something said something, especially a couple weeks before the presidential inauguration. >> until we find out more, it is kind of a mystery right now. service national park would not say how many guns were found in the case and in these woods, but they said they are running them through the system to see if they are connected with anything else. live in northwest washington, tim barber, abc 7 news. alison: very strange, thank you. canvassing for information about a deadly shooting in capitol heights. last friday, carrington carter was killed on white brick place. the police do not have suspects or a motive. there is a reward of up to $25,000. and by ready with information -- anybody with information is asked to come forward.

the moment that led up to a christmas day death. this is body camera video from the police department. it shows what happened. the police were very clear they saw a knife. the family said there was no knife. anna-lysa gayle spoke with the chief of police to break down the footage. anna-lysa: this newly released body camera video gives the site of the officers responding to the frantic 911 call christmas day. the operator asking for an address and the caller saying, "quickly, please, this man has a knife." the person went on to say my sister is locked in the house, her boyfriend is crazy, he got a knife. he turned on the gas and i'm locked out. officers identified the boyfriend as gerald hall. when they got to the door, they asked him to drop the knife. >> put the knife down. anna-lysa: according to the li
