rescuers have been coming the pacific ocean off the coast of los angeles after a cruise ship passengers reported seeing a helicopter go down. no contact had been made with the missing chopper. no victims or debris found so far. the ntsb is looking for the cause of that crash at the train crash. it derailed at brooklyn's atlantic terminal yesterday morning. the train's engineer has been drug tested but the results haven't been released. in michigan, two more homes have been condemned near that sinkhole in the city of fraser. however, two dozen families in the area should be able to return home next week. one former official blames a lack of maintenance. macy's said

as a surprise to the party. former virginia congressman "tom perriello" now says he intends to run, and could announce as soon as today. until now - lieutenant governor ralph northan has been the only democrat seeking to succeed governor terry mcauliffe. right now- an active investigation about what caused a commuter train to crash in downtown brooklyn. more than 100 people were hurt wednesday morning when the long island railroad train went over the bumper at the end of the track- and kept moving. none of the injuries are life-threatening. federal investigators- are now trying to determine the cause. there are reports it was speeding. bad news for one of the nation's biggest retailers. macy's is

eliminating more than 10-thousand jobs. the move comes after a disappointing holiday season for sales. the only store slated to close in our area -- is at the landmark mall in alexandria. we are learning more about vice president joe biden's plans-- after the next administration takes office. according to his aide-- vice president biden will partner with the university of delaware for an economic and domestic policy initiative. biden graduated from that university in 1965. he also is planning to work with the university of pennsylvania on an initiative involving foreign policy issues. next week's national championship game will have college football fans glued to their televisions. but if they want to see the game in person-- that's going to cost more than a pretty penny. the average resale price of a ticket to the clemson-alabama game is close to three-thousand-dol lars. that's a record for the college title game according to ticket-iq, which tracks sales. only about 3-thousand resale tickets were available wednesday afternoon. the cheapest costing a little over 1-thousand-dollars.
