planes were unloading and they were working diligently to get everyone off. florida, lawof enforcement in the state will not tolerate these acts. whoever is responsible will be accountable to the full extent of the law. amy: swat teams spent the day clearing the airport. thereals tell me so far is no timeframe on when the airport will reopen. amy aubert, abc 7 news. jonathan: we are getting our first look at the suspected shooter, an iraq war veteran who said he had heard voices telling him to watch isis videos. his name is esteban santiago. he is in federal custody tonight. police are looking extensively into his background and what may have triggered the attack. tom roussey joins us live with eye-opening new developments. tom: as the night has gone on, we have been learning more about the 26-year-old suspect, esteban santiago.

one of a veteran with very serious psychological problems. santiago's brother said he was receiving mental health treatment alaska, where he was discharged this past summer. brother said that santiago was born in new jersey but grew up in puerto rico. relative said that santiago has a newborn baby boy. he served one year in iraq in 2010. tonight cnn is reporting he actually won a combat action badge for his actions there. relatives say after returning from iraq he began having mental health issues, and this past november santiago allegedly walked into an fbi office and said the government was controlling his mind and forcing him to watch isis videos. live from the newsroom, tom roussey, abc 7 news. michelle: it i

getting home from school. anna-lysa gayle joins us with the investigation happening now. there were warning signs? anna-lysa: yes, jonathan, neighbors were worried one of the residence was exhibiting unusual behavior and they had called the police several times in the past. this community seems close, they know a lot about each other and say the incident is heartbreaking. officers are still trying to figure out what led to the shooting. an ambulance out outside of a home on oakland drive after a family member found a woman shot to death and a man suffering from life-threatening injuries inside this house. the shooting was reported at 3:25 in the afternoon, about the same time kids were getting home from school. >> we believe this to be a domestic-related incident with no threat to the community. anna-lysa: this neighbor was emotional when she heard the details. >>

both had handguns. right now, the police are trying to determine if the atm's recovered in a u-haul truck in d.c. were stolen from gas stations. this is new surveillance video of a smash and grab in hyattsville. three men used a u-haul truck to dislodge the machine before loading it and taking it. it is one of six similar cases in december. in southeast this week, four atm's were recovered from a stolen u-haul truck. no arrests have been made. jonathan: criminal charges have been fil after a drop truck -- don't truck crashed into a house in oxon hill last month. three people were injured in the driver is facing several charges, including failure to control the vehicle. he initially claimed he was run off the road. the police say he made up a story. michelle: a growing scandal involving the prince george's county liquor board. yesterday, four
