it's open this evening but they are on high alert. alison: this is developing in south florida. new video of the shooting at the fort lauderdale airport. tmz obtained the records of esteban santiago, iraq war veteran opening fire on friday. five people were killed. today, santiago went before a judge now facing three federal charges. if convicted could carry the death penalty. terrorism charges are still possible. michelle: also developing a manhunt for a cop killer in central florida. the search forcing some schools in the orlando area to lockdown. elizabeth hur has the desperate search. elizabeth: a somber morning for police in orlando turned into a day of an all-out manhunt for accused cop killer. >> we are bringing this dirt bag to justice and he is going to jail. elizabeth: police say debra clayton was shot down trying

markeith lloyd who is wanted in the shooting death of his pregnant ex-girlfriend. >> she either recognized him or was notified of his presence and then went to contact him. >> he had a security vest on and everything. he walked right by me. i came out. i'm walking down the side, past the officer. i heard him tell him to stop. he shot her. he shot her down. took off running. i mean, unreal. elizabeth: eyewitnesses say the suspect ran away and paramedics responded within minutes. but the 17-year veteran and mother of two later died at the hospital. >> she married her soulmate. she was a daughter. daddy's little girl. elizabeth: hours later the florida law enforcement community hit with another loss. authorities say a motorcycle deputy was hit and killed by a man while work a perimeter searching for the suspect. >> this thing that he can do this time is turn himself in

we would love to be able to resolve the situation peacefully. elizabeth: right now there is a $60,000 reward offered for this case. officials asking the public for the help. also reminding them the suspect is considered armed and extremely dangerous. in new york, i'm elizabeth hur, abc7 news. alison: back at home, a maryland care-giver could go to prison after going to exercise at the gym. police say frank tedlore left his nearly nonverbal patient with autism in a car while he worked out. when he returned the patient was gone. kevin lewis has more. kevin: lifting iron and craving cardio at this l.a. fitness has frank doing a lot of explaining. the care-giveer that worked at the place for autistic adults d

patient. patient nowhere to be found. according to the court documents tedlor waited three hours before getting help. officers set up a search grid using a blood hound, plus a search and rescue suspects. hours later, they found the autistic man wandering down a street in the dark more than four miles from the gym where he first disappeared. tedlor who court documents indicate made $11 an hour lives in this silver spring apartment complex with his mother. investigators say the non-profit he worked for had previously disciplined for ditching patients but kept him on staff. >> it seems to me there is liability on the company side. that is for other people to determine. i think it's wrong. kevin: he i

tipping people off. when we got to court today the feds said they were not going to continue to detain him. they were going to release. take a look at the video. this is when david son carrying his 1-month-old child in a baby basket was released from federal custody. he was released to custody of his wife under strict rules. he can't even have a cell phone or access to a telephone, computer, tablet, anything in his house. he is not supposed to speak with what prosecutors called an extensive list of people who may be involved in this scandallal. so that is an additional reference to the notion that this bribery scandal is going to grow from the four people who were arrested last week. already we know of a couple of elected officials who have been implicated but not yet named. we believe that those names are going to be made public along with the charges at some point this week. the bottom line today david son has been

person's politics. talk show host montel williams remarked meryl streep spoke for majority of the americans tonight. but not all of the colleagues agree with the message. look at what actor from joshua molina, he is going off on streep and he tweets tra donald trump writing i don't agree with a lot of your policies but you nailed it on the streep thing. she is not that good at acting. when she makes a good movie, i'll listen to her political views. then he tweets about losing followers saying it's worth it to be able to express my opinions freely and he even calls the streep supporters "streepies." the country is divided on her speech as well. back to you. michelle: okay. alison: strong reactions. jonathan: it will be nice when we get back to a place we don't all attack everywhere. michelle: i don't know that we are returning to that space soon, though. talk about the kardashians. 16 people arrested and taken in for questioning for their

michelle: here we go. just 11 days left in the trump transition. inauguration day is one week from this coming friday. to hit the ground running president elect donald trump will need his cabinet intact. that is a sore spot on the hill. democrats think the hearings should be after they complete ethics review.

that the hearings will go on but the nominees need to complete ethics process before a vote. today, trump said he believes all picks will be confirm and pledged to step away from the family business. jonathan: the f.b.i. is beefing up security for inauguration day. as michelle said, the clock is ticking down and fast. jeff goldberg along the national mall. no stone unturned as they prepare for this thing. the f.b.i. is rolling out all new toys and technology for this. jeff: yeah, there is a lot for them to show. we saw a lot of it today. if you come to the mall, you will see the signs that inauguration is coming everywhere. we saw the scaffolding put up here earlier today, a few hours ago at third and jefferson. big speakers awaiting the arrival of inauguration day. there is so much you will not see when it comes to keeping things safe on inauguration day. today we got a look at the tools and the teams that they will doe ploy in the inauguration to enhance the security but also to respond in the event of an emergency

incident. crews will have gas masks and air monitors to respond to a chemical attack. tools to dismantle a suspicious package like a backpack. robots controlled by the high risk tactic teams to protect areas that are not safe for individuals. with hundreds of thousands of people expected to be downtown for the inauguration next week, movement around the city will not be easy. >> it is challenging to posture the resources necessary to maintain the safety for the public as well as the smooth running of events in the inauguration. jeff: they believe the state, local, other law enforcement agencies are confident they will keep everything safe. they deal with this every four years but the threats are always changing and evolving. they have to adapt.

john: thousands of diswashers have be recalled because of chances of catching fire. but more and more in the d.c. area say their dishwasher smells of overheating or smoke but it is not on the recall list. gina is doing the dishes the old fashioned way.
