leaders like john lewis who carry on his legacy. may their example be our call to action. congressman lewis has said this will be the first inauguration he's missed since being elected in 1986. that's actually not the case. he sat out george w. bush's swearing in. he lost the popular both. lewis said it would be hypocritical to attend because he didn't feel bush was the true elected president. jeopardy may have tuned into this lewis controversy and the fact he would be making headlines. last night's category was this hero of civil rights marches was first elected to represent georgia's district in 198 6. none of the contestants got the answer of the question. the episode was recorded weeks ago. the answer was john lewis.

the people trying to escape the shooting. >> reporter: the frightening moments caught on cell phone video. >> all of a sudden we heard four to five very clear shots. >> reporter: club goers ducking for cover and running after a gunman opens fire outside a club in mexico. five people were killed. mexican authorities say three of them were part of the security personnel trying to protect people inside the club. the aftermath, dozens of party goers injured including at least four americans. an american from washington state shot in the backside. another from houston shot in both arms. >> i couldn't move. >> his friend was shot. >> her last words to me was i don't feel anything. >> reporter: and died thereafter. the shooting happened during an event part of the 10 day electronic music festival.
