that's been more of a calm atmosphere -- opposedre, as on, to other areas of town. say?at safe to kimberly: it has been a tale of two cities, on k street, with the protests, the confrontations, the arrests. the securityhin area -- this is all gated. we have police officers everywhere. have special passes to get into this area. it's been very quiet. saw the former president, barack obama, greeting the now current president, donald trump, for tea. sounds very civilized and british. then they both accompanied each ther up to capitol hill for inauguration ceremony. so, yes, it has been very quiet, very peaceful. the only noise here, some cheers coming from the few hundred gathered here to watch

area where protestors have been with police mosofhe what's happening now? reporter: just about an hour had to put outrs a fire along the street where the officers. onre was a limo that was set fire. that fire has been extinguished. saw a couple from fairfax. officers are creating a perimeter around 13th and k street, and no one is allowed to the street. most of the protestors are in the park. able to find were atouple of people who were their place of employment, 180 salon. of workers said they had to leave early because of the activity. they said they do not feel comfortable being here. but right now everything seems calm. officers have things under control and mo

an interesting election. it's been an interestingp and on one side of a safety fence. and on the other, you have protests. >> that's right. of twoen a tale washingtons at least. if not three today, as we watch out.thing play our sam ford has covered many inaugurations here in washington and he's been watching it all unfold today at freedom plaza. we were talking about how that the newt was president got out, right in his hotel, to start walking. therter: that was one of many interesting things. we are here at 13th and pennsylvania avenue, which is freedom plaza is. and we were able to look down at pennsylvania, at the trump's family. that is where the president and got out ofmembers the cars and walked past this trump international hotel. after a brief walk, of course, he was back in the limo and surrounded by walking secret se

d.c. to return to their home state. well, marchers, unhappy about outcome of this election, are of course planning to march on washington tomorrow.q and several companion marches are also planned all over the country. ofthere could be thousands people here, convergingv for another march in d.c. with two women planning to take part in tomorrow's protests. her twin sister, martha, aren't your average 15-year-olds. they are two high school concerned who are about human rights and are preparing to speak out. march reallyf the resonated with me. >> i feel like we need the generation to be standing up for their rights. reporter: on saturday, those maryland teens will take their concerns here to the national mall. where they will join an 200,000 people participating in the women's march. was created the day after donald trump was elected

northwest washington, suzanne kennedy, abc 7 news. >> organizers of this march tomorrow have gotten a permit for 200,000 people. the location is at the corner of third street and independence avenue tomorrow. says they will be opening early, 5:00 a.m., to accommodate all of those people who are taking part in this. just in the last 10 minutes, we got new information about it. have learned that the federal triangle station for metro will closed tomorrow. and this is for security reasons for the marchers there. to stay withsure abc 7 news. we'll have complete coverage for you. we will be ready for whatever theens and to cover protests tomorrow. >> it will be a busy day tomorrow. it was a busy day today. had on the one side of the parade, the inauguration. that's supporters. other side of the security fence, a lot of protesters. the epicenter seemed to be at 13th and k. this is a live picture of 13th and k. you can
