breaking overnight. a serious crash shuts down a road near fairfax station. police say a car left the street and crashed into a tree-- killing one of the people inside. a second occupant was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. the 76-hundred block of clifton road was shut down for hours as investigators examined the scene.
