saturday with australia's prime minister, malcolm turnbull. on the call, trump slammed an agreement australia made with president obama to settle about 1,200 refugees in the united states. the refugees fled afghanistan, iran, iraq and other countries and are currently in detention centers on islands north of australia. "the washington post" reporting trump told the prime minister it was the worst deal ever, and accused australia of trying to send america the next boston bombers. telling the prime minister that of the four calls he had that day with foreign leaders, this was the worst call by far and then he cut the call short. prime minister turn bull sounded diplomatic in an interview with sydney radio station, 2gb. >> the report that the president hung up is not correct. the call ended courteously, and as far as the nature of the discussion, it was very frank and forthright. >> reporter: but trump was still at it, tweeting that the refugee deal with australia

>> we're taken advantage of by every nation in the world virtually. it's not going to happen anymore. it's not going to happen anymore. >> reporter: some americans were mortified. >> i called the australian ambassador to reinforce to him our commitment to australia, and our relationship. >> reporter: but the president is defiant. >> the world is in trouble. but we're going to straighten it out. okay? that's what i do. i fix things. we're going to straighten it out. >> late thursday, the australian ambassador to the united states came here to the white house and met with the president's chief of staff, reince priebus and his chief strategist steven bannon. according to the white house, the two men conveyed the president's "deep admiration for the australian people." jonathan karl, abc news, the white house. and there appears to be a slight shift in the new administration's policy on the middle east. the white house says israel's construction of new settlements in the dispute

to peace efforts. that's a change from what some top trump officials have said in favor of those settlements. the statement came just hours after israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu promised to establish new west bank settlements after a court ordered the demolition of an illegal outpost there. israeli troops had to forcibly remove settlers from the location. the administration apparently also shifting somewhat in its relations with russia. over the issue of ukraine. u.n. ambassador nikki haley condemning russia's aggressive actions lately. the obama administration imposed sanctions on russia after it annexed crimea from ukraine several years ago. she said those sanctions will remain in place till the peninsula is returned. >> we do want to better our relations with russia. however, the dire situation in eastern ukraine is one that depends clear and strong condemnation of russian actions. this escalation of violence must

>> and russia's ambassador noted the chaj in tone from the trump administration but said ukraine is a plex issue. the u.s. military is launching an investigation into the deadly terror raid in yemen that killed an elite navy seal and most likely several civilians including children. the u.s. commando team was surrounded by hard core fighters including women showering them in a 360 hail of gunfire. officials say several civilians may have been killed possibly including the young daughter of slain american cleric and war al lackey the whole time president trump was monitoring the mission. >> the president was here in the residence and kept in touch with secretary mattis and others kept him updated on both the raid and the death of chief owens. >> still the white house is defending the mission as "a very well thought out and executed effort," insisting they were able to gatter critical intelligence including laptops and cell phones. >> this controversial move by the house voting to

investigation into allegations from abuse by brown of his wife molly and in october of 2016, they released more than 100 pages of documents detailing allegations and seeming admissions of physical, verbal and emotional abuse. >> she claims you were physically violent more than 20 occasions. >> i dispute it. i absolutely dispute it. >> reporter: included in those documents, highly confidential journals filled with personal details. he says he was instructed to write them as part of his marriage therapy at the time. >> niece were your deepest darkest thoughts and secrets made public. >> yeah, these were the things that you say to yourself and then you would burn them. >> and i didn't. >> reporter: he says molly turned those journals over to sheriff's investigators in 2016. years after they were written. as part of an investigation. and just days after the journals were made public by the sheriff's office, he was cut from the giants. and he's been out of a
