71 culpeper and fredericksburg. and when the cold front comes there, we will slowly fall off this afternoon. and for the forecast, it is looking like early spring with wind turning to the north and that will slowly got the temperatures --drop the temperatures. but we have snow coming. rain overnight mixing with changing snow and further to the north, the more potential for interesting and difficult weather. in the metro, not so much because of the warm air and ground, so very little accumulation. but the winter weather advisory is in the north and west and the further north you go, you will get 2-4 inches with slick roads. we do not anticipate slick roads in the metro. we expect an area of low pressure to develop. when the cold air comes through, it will go east overnight and take a look at how it

on the way to the supreme court. and in the meantime, the president's nominee for attorney general is expected to be confirmed today, despite the attempts by the democrats to slow down the process. jeff sessions is expected to be confirmed this evening. the senate voted to continue the nomination after a filibuster. and after a debate on the nomination, elizabeth warren was silenced by her colleagues. she was quoting a 1986 letter from the wife of martin luther king jr., where she stated that access and -- sessions used his power to quiet black people. mitch mcconnell used his power to make her stop. then she took the social media. and stock silverthorne expected in court this afternoon, six ,onths after he was busted accused of using a dating site the set of sexual encounters with men in exchange for drugs. he gave an

11:00 p.m. last night. we spoke to the homeowners off camera and they say one of their tenants had just left for work before the car crashed into the bedroom. isondriver came off of ads road. just a fee from the bus stop. >> would've somebody's child was out here? this is ridiculous. john: the driver fled the scene. >> oh my god. john: the homeowner says they purchased the home only a few years ago. they're considering moving your the driver -- moving. again, the driver took off. and authorities here have been protecting the scene all morning. jummy: right now a man and woman in the hospital after police say they were shot and stabbed last night. it happened on audrey lane just before 11:00. at last

>> you are watching abc 7 news at noon. jummy: students back in class after missing monday and tuesday. a school shut down from a bedbug and rat infestation. the students are back in class but miles away from the regular classrooms. sam sweeney explains. sam: for the first time since friday, they are returning to savoy elementary school, but this time not for class. it is a meeting point to get into a temporary school. >> they are taking action this week of us having a meeting.

bedbugs and rats. >> it is ridiculous. it is. bedbugs, we do not know where they are coming from. from somebody's home? it is crazy. sam: the problem so severe that regular treatment did not work. lastly, d.c. public schools shut the school down. now students will be taken three miles away to help elementary school, that was closed years ago due to low enrollment. >> they took action and they are making the right decision to make sure the kids are save and is still able to get an education. is: the school district taking this seriously. it is not a quick fix. you can see the many chemicals they are using and it will take at least a couple of weeks. no definite date on when classes will resume here at savoy elementary. in southeast washington, sam sweeney. jummy:

eliza young, the seven-year-old given the chance to become an honorary prince george police officer, has lost his battle with cancer. he died yesterday surrounded by loved ones. he was given the chance to become an officer for a day and it was a dream come true. family members say he bought a tough battle and never gave up, continuing to smile and give hope to those around him. there has been support on social media ever since news of his death. right now, a pence the fraternity is under temporary -- penn state fraternity is under temporary suspension after the discovery of a student found unresponsive at the bottom of a stairs at a fraternity house. he was rushed to the hospital and died a day later. members say he fell around 11 p.m., aos

in 24 hours. a winter weather advisory in effect for tonight and tomorrow, the areas in purple, not the metro but montgomery and to the pennsylvania line and west to the mountains. you can see the pink, winter storm warning. and numbers will be falling, 50's for the metro area tonight. and then low-pressure developing pushingstrong winds that to the east and temperatures for a warm as the rain gets going. this will go through 3:00 a.m. when we still have rain, it could be moderate rain. and colder to the north, mild here. in the morning, this will change to snow and a lot of it will be melting because the ground is warm. but the heavier the snow, the quicker that the air temperature will fall. and bottom line, by the point it goes out, by midmorning

there will be potential for some of elation. and looking in the metro, everything will be slushy. south, it will be mostly rain. further to the north, it will become colder and more accumulation possible for those people, four inches plus. and it has publicly the cold air is coming in. it will not be light snow, this will be heavy snow flakes coming down. and the storm will be going to the area in a short amount of time. it will come, boom, boom and be gone. we will monitor this throughout the day. but we think we have a pretty comfortable idea that it will have some minor effects in the metro, but definitely mild here, the impact higher to the north and west. nothing like a snowstorm for northeast maryland all the way to boston. and extended outlook, we finish with this. will the crazy temperature swings continue? what do you think? 73 today.
