getting ready to give a press conference. ryan hughes has been following this developing story and joins us live outside the casino with details on both car chase cases. ryan: kimberly, a lot of questions tonight. we are awaiting an interview with anne arundel county police to try to connect the dots. first we had the shooting and carjacking in d.c., then another a man being with arrested at the casino. we are working to confirm if these incidents are connected. a wild night at the maryland live casino, visitors running out of the building as anne arundel county police arrested a d.c. man following a chase through prince george's county. shortly after 11 p.m. last night, two people shot a man inside of his black

cherokee in northeast d.c. the police say they stole the tericle and it was la found in maryland, set on fire. then, anne arundel county police get word of a police chase that started in d.c., went through prince george's county, and ended at the parking garage of the maryland live casino. investigators say the suspect's vehicle was somehow involved in a carjacking in d.c. the police say the driver was not armed when he entered the casino and was quickly arrested. but as the police sealed off a hallway and bathroom looking for a weapon, chaos ensued. three people were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. although there are similarities, d.c. police and anne arundel county police are not confirming if the two incidents are connected. live, the man arrested here has been charged with drug

had 40 grams of marijuana in his possession. he was identified as larry philip. we are told he was not involved in the carjacking and shooting in d.c. details are just coming in with the interview with anne arundel county police. once we get the full story, we will let you know. ryan hughes, abc 7 news. kimberly: speaking of the press conference, let's listen right now to anne arundel county police as they discuss the incident. >> when the arrest teams went in, some people in the casino self-evacuated. we do not order the evacuation. we just went up to the suspect in an orderly fashion with a number of officers, and some people were alarmed and self-evacuated, leading to some people having injuries with their ankles and backs, minor injuries. >> any officers? >>

the original arrest team, but as time unfolded, a few more officers came in to search for weapons and things of that nature. maryland live security staff tracked the incident from the time he got out of the car to the time he was arrested at the slot machine, and we had to secure a bathroom in hallway looking for anything he may have thrown out. to the suspect know that you were after him? >> yes, he did. i think you knew the police were behind him. >> but there were no lights and sirens? >> there were no lights and sirens reported by anne arundel county units in the county. i don't know what happened before he came into anne arundel county. we received a request from d.c. to assist in a chase involving a shooting that had entered our county. i did not understand that over here. >> we received a call to assist d.c. to chase this car involved in a shooting. that is when we began pursuing him in the county. >> was there a chase in the county? >> absolutely. kimberly: we just heard some details that may connect the different scenes. it sounds like there was a shooting and chase initiated in help,then d.c. asked for then the chase continued into anne arundel county. it appears the scenes are connected. ryan will stay on the story and sorted out at 11:00. president trump spent his second weekend in a row at hi

recently as wednesday. now he says he does not recall, but he is not completely certain. david wright, abc news. kimberly: immigrant communities around the country on edge after we have seen hundreds of people arrested by immigration and customs enforcement. at least 160 people have been arrested in the l.a. area alone. ice calls this a routine search targeting criminals, but advocates say they have not seen large-scale arrest like this for nearly a decade. abortion opponents held rallies in several cities today. this was outside of planned parenthood in northeast d.c. as protesters called on congress to defund the organization. federal money does not pay for the organization, but the organization is reimbursed by medicaid for birth control and medical screenings.

in anne arundel county, new information about the police chase that started in d.c. and wound up at the maryland live casino. sam ford joins us with an update. it sounds like the scenes have been connected. o, actually, kimberly, it sounds like confusion. basically, 9:30 last night in d.c. on division avenue, a carjack victim was shot and kicked out of his car and they took off. it was a dark cherokee. the lookout went out for that vehicle. turns out that vehicle was later found the burn. but a the point, they were looking for this vehicle. prince george's county sees a vehicle, there is a chase that goes from prince george's county to anne arundel county, where the chase continues. the driver drives into the maryland live casino and tries to disappear.

in effect that could be changed into a high wind warning. this evening stays quiet, the clouds moving back in. because of the cloud cover, the temperature stay relatively steady. 4:30 on thening, futurecast, rain moving in up and down the shenandoah valley. then it is towards d.c. at about 7 a.m. early plans for church, you are likely dealing with showers. get through the morning, that will really favor places further north of d.c. we hang onto that chance until about lunchtime, 11:00 a.m. then dryer in the afternoon. a little sunshine towards the end of the day. the further south you live tomorrow, much warmer, more sunshine. the further north, some of us will be stuck in the 40's. it's a different scenario depending on where you live.
