the presidents day event is on now at havertys. life looks good. >> now abc 7 news at noon. on your side. >> happening now, a press conference at the white house as president trump meets with israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu. we're showing you a live picture of the white house and will take you inside once the special news conference begins so stay with us here on abc 7 news at noon. meanwhile, we know president trump and his white house are dealing with a new bombshell. allegations that members of his campaign were in touch with russian intelligence officials before the election. the developments come a day after trump's national scurelt advisor -- security advisor resigned. we go to kenneth in washington. kenneth: president trump, his associates and the russians, "the new york times" reports

people inside and outside trump's campaign have repeated contacts with russian intelligence officials in the year leading up to the election. the times doesn't go into detail about the conversations but does give one name, paul manafort, his former campaign chairman fired over the summer. this morning manafort called the report ridiculous and said he never knowingly talked to russian officers. they said they didn't know they were talking to russian officials and the paper reported u.s. officials haven't seen any evidence that the trump team cooperated with russia in the hack of the democrats or had anything to do with it. contact with russian officials during the campaign would contradict what the white house said yesterday. >> there's nothing that would conclude nothing changed with respect to that time period. kenneth: president trump hosting prime minister netanyahu tweeted his defense and called the report fake news and conspiracy theories. on capitol hill, outrage over ex-national security advisor michael flynn discussing

81 with a few snowflakes mixed in. the story for the rest of the afternoon will be sun and clouds and sprinkle and gusty winds and sunshine with a little bit of a mini cold snap for a couple days and then a bigtime warm-up on track, all included in our 10-day outlook and i'll share in 10 minutes, jummy. jummy: thank you, doug. following breaking news, the man charged in the murder of a 3-year-old, knijah bibb after firing in the home of prince george's in 2015, we learned davon wallace was sentenced to 45 years behind bars. bibb was shot after a fight broke out between wallace and a resident in the home in landover where she was visiting. developing now, police in fairfax county connecting the dots in a homicide investigation. the victim's friend who was missing for a month returned home late last night only to be taken away by police. our john gonzalez live for us this noon and he explains why. john?

not exactly a sweet homecoming for this 17-year-old. we just got an update from fairfax county police. they have nine people in custody. six of them juveniles connected to gang activity and now linked to a murder here in fairfax county. one of those juveniles is the 17-year-old who went missing from her apartment in ?4 alexandria back on january 15. well, we've been speaking to and she r this morning was pleading for the daughter to come home. last night she did and walked in the door of the apartment and the mother was emotional and elated but says quite frankly she's terrified and said she only had 10 minutes with her daughter last night and didn't have time to figure out where she was for the past 30 days before detectives took the teen away in handcuffs. police say venus ran away with a backpack full of clothes and now she's being questioned about the murder of her 15-year-old

was found on saturday at a park ear springfield. [speaking in foreign language] >> that girl also was reported missing for two months before her body was found. now, this mother, the mother of venus, arietta, said a detective called her early this morning. the daughter was held overnight. the detectives telling her to come to the detention center at 1:00 this afternoon and when police are also giving us a briefing on the latest on the charges. my colleague jeff goldberg will be at that press conference to tell us more about the people that are detained and we under 10 have now been identified. the mother here saying that it's been a roller coaster of

that her daughter is alive but now very confused about these charges. reporting live, john gonzalez, abc 7 news. jummy: arlington authorities are trying to determine what caused a car to break through a guardrail and crash right on to the street below it. it happened overnight i-395 near the pentagon parking lot. the car's driver was taken to a hospital with significant injuries but the victim's condition right now is unknown. in the meantime we switch gears to cover metro. now at noon metro's 4,000 series railcars are being taken off the rails and hitting the roads. it's the end of an era for the troubled train car. our sam sweeney is in green belt with the details. sam: they're not the oldest but they are certainly the most troubled trained on metro's rails, talking about the 4,000 series train cars, responsible for 2/3 of metro rail breakdowns. >> it goes about 25,000 miles before some sort of failure. and

times better and the 7,000 is doing almost 165,000 miles before failure. sam: early this morning the first,000 series cars rolled off the rails and on to this truck. by 9:00 a.m. it was on route 1 headed to its final stop in baltimore. the old 4,000 series cars and its little sister, the 1,000 series cars will be retired by the end of the year. the new 7,000 series trains are coming online regularly as replacements. >> getting about 20 in a row and started out at eight a month last year and improved that quite a bit. sam: if you're wondering what happens to the train cars once they arrive in baltimore, one, they're not dumped into the ocean and two, they will not be turned into a diner. they will be scrapped up and recycled and in some cases people all over the world even buy the old rusted parts. reporting in green belt, i'm sam sweeney, back to you in the studio. jummy: coming up on abc 7 news at noon.

while you were on a holiday, a 2-year-old boy was shot and killed. jummy: a toddler caught in the crossfire. chicago reeling from another senseless shooting. plus, we continue to watch the white house and wait for that press conference between president trump and israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu to begin. we'll take you there live as soon as it begins in the meantime we'll get a check of traffic with angela foster. angela: on the roads for this midday, it's cones and barrels. midday road operations in a few locations, one on the beltway causing major problems but on the map, mostly you're going to see green, especially inside the beltway in the district we have a work zone near the u.s. capitol. third street tunnel delays from the capital. heading towards the southeast-southwest freeway. now a peek outside at those delays on the capital beltway.

mishaps piloting on his own. in 2014 he crash landed his single engine world war ii era plane right on a golf course. this noon we have another heartbreaking story to tell you out of chicago. a toddler gunned down in an ambush style triple shooting. the 2-year-old was killed along with a 26-year-old man believed to be the target of that gang related shooting on the city's west side. a woman also shot. all three were hit by bullets while sitting in a car. that entire incident was captured on facebook live. >> i'm sick of it and i know chicago is sick of it. i just hope our legislative partners are sick of it. jummy: that toddler is the second child killed in chicago since saturday. a dairy queen manager in missouri is charged with manslaughter at her teen employee committed suicide. 17-year-old kenny sutner killed

alexandria. there are breaks of blue sky developing ahead of the cold front and at the moment are at 49 degrees at reagan international and winds are light at 5 miles per hour but the winds become gusty out of the northwest once the front goes through. we're seeing wind gusts 30 miles per hour well to the north and west of the metro area out around the vicinity and behind the cold front and we'll see our winds increase, too. plenty of winds over southern maryland and eastern north carolina this morning and now shreds of snow showers and some colder air with a few sprinkles associated with a cold front. not sure we'll see any of that and is a possibility but we'll say it's partly cloudy with temperatures dropping behind the front and be clear and it will be colder tonight. our future cast shows temperatures by 7:00 tonight about 40 degrees in the metro area and they'll continue to drop through the overnight into the 30's and eventually upper 20's by early tomorrow morning. north and west of the city with crystal clear
