caption content and accuracy. visit ncicap.org] thank you for joining us. a night of celebration turns tragic. a housewarming party, north arlington ends up with a man shot and killed. ryan hughes is live now near the scene with more. this is a shock to this neighborhood, i know. quiet and nice neighborhood. we are just off sycamore street, only a few blocks away from bishop o'connell high school. we are told that four guys just moved into this house about a month ago and decided to throw a housewarming party. it with an invitation out there on facebook, even told their neighbors, asking them to let them know if they got too loud. around 3:20 this morning, a fight breaks out and a 23-year-old justice shot in the front yard. -- guest is shot in the front yard. a quiet and family-friendly street. --

scene, police tape stretched across 29th street north after a man a shot to death at a housewarming party. >> i was in the basement and we did not hear the gunshots. until we got upstairs and got rounded by the police, that is when the story hit us. >> he says music was playing and the alcohol flowing. about 45 people ha time, when a fight arrives outside around 3:20 this morning. shots were fired and police ca 23-year-old man died at the hospital. >> it's a shock because everybody is against the wall and you are confused about what's going on, sitting on the floor. >> police tell as officers were in the area and heard the gunshots. evidence markers could be seen and detectivese, spent hours working to see, canvassing the neighborhood and interviewing witnesses. >> it was a shock because he was a very friendly vibe. i do not think anyone would bring the gun - - a

a total of about $700,000 in damage. the montgomery county fire officials tell us they believe that this fire was the result of a discarded smoking material in this back area by a recycling bin on the back porch. this happened at 2:30 this morning in clarksburg. it spread really fast. the family of 4 lives in this home. they moved in 2 weeks ago. the father was of stirrers, heard a noise, so it was a fire, got his family outside safely before the fire really started spreading fast. both homes next-door have damage from the serious heat and the fire that was being spread by the wind. 20firefighters spent 15 to minutes knocking out this fire entirely. a police officer was the scene and knocked on doors to wake up neighbors. >> there was a police officer knocking at the door at 2:30 in the morning, saying your neighbor's house is on fire, you need to get out.

kimberly: federal investigators are on the scene of a plane crash in a small town in new jersey. the pilot of the small plane survived. this plane crashed in a residential neighborhood around 10:00 in the morning. no one on the ground was hurt, fortunately. that plane took out power lines and destroyed half a dozen cars, missing several homes. just mangling the middle. i do not even realize, my car got hit. authorities say doctors are treating the pilot at a nearby hospital. he has spoken with investigators. it is believed the plane suffered some kind of mechanical problem before that crash landing. springlike weather paid a visit this weekend, but how long

up after aleaning powerful pacific storm drenched southern california. this aftermath includes widespread flooding, massive trees and toppling power lines. five people are now confirmed dead. more than 30,000 people are still without power in southern california, as they clean up from flooding and mudslides. tonight engineers in the northern part of the state are keeping a close eye on the still waqves at the oroville dam as more rain continues to fall.

all nighters this weekend not for school work. it is the largest student run philanthropic event in the entire country. is dnce crashing the 46 hour dance party at the bright jordan center. the event raises money for children with cancer. i believe they raised several million dollars. it's just crazy what the dancers would do for kids who need help. >> i'm a volunteer. raised 10 million bucks. i've never seen video quite like this. raised 10 million bucks. this is -- >> i can remember when my friends going to penn state would talk about this. i don't think it was anything like that even when they were there.
