crossed into the district, where kevin lewis the latest on the investigation. q, this is a very confusing crime scene. you had appointed to this being police,risdiction, d.c. other maryland police agencies trying to capture this person or the people who shot at an officer. add to that this is a large area. we are on the southern avenue border between d.c. and prince george's county. when we first arrived in 90 minutes ago, it was very fluid, canines, officers with long rifles. two helicopters in the year, one with a spotlight on various neighborhoods, a number of squad beamwith their side looking down alleys and t

whomever shot at an officer in prince george's county. about 15 minutes ago, three members of the prince george's county public information office arrived on scene. they are currently trying to get all of the facts in order. we were hoping to had that information, but so far they are still coordinating all of the facts. a lay of the land, back alive, to my left, this is an apartment complex where there was a heavy police presence, and still to a degree still is, and down the way here, that is a recreation center. is an the rec center outdoor park and a playground. there are a number of officers on the tennis courts, police tape around the playground in the park. we

play in this, and we also do not know if the manhunt continues. there is still a helicopter circling overhead. kevin lewis, abc 7 news. also developing tonight, in prince william county, a loss prevention officer is dead. , and the mantabbed who stabbed him is pictured on our screen. outside of the burlington coat factory at potomac mills mall. anna-lysa gayle is live in woodbridge with the man who was killed and the man accused of stabbing him. q, the burlington coat factory closed early because of the deadly stabbing. the police believe the shoplifting and now murder suspect ran in that direction after stabbing the loss prevention employee. tonight they need the public's help to find him. a line of officers scoured a nearby parking lot for a murder

responded to the burlington coat factory at potomac mills mall at about 2:30 saturday afternoon, where they found larry drumgole suffering from a stab wound. he was pronounced dead at the hospital. part of the loss prevention team, they say that larry employeeand another try to stop a man they saw shoplifting in the store. he has been identified as jamel kingsburg. thehey found him towards exit, but the confrontation continues outside where he was stabbed. this coworker said he was a dedicated family man and employee. >> a very strong person and a great father to his children and a great husband to his wife. i just know that he took his job very serious, loved his job. anna-lysa: this person worked with larry drumgole at a burlington coat factory in 2012. >>

southeast d.c., and this news conference is happening live right now. kevin: lieutenant, what happened tonight? >> officers received a call for a fight on kayak avenue. when they arrived on the scene, one of the victims said he was robbed. they gave a description of the suspect and another officer in the area saw a gentleman matching the description. they try to stop a man he fled into d.c. during the pursuit, there was an exchange of gunfire. the suspect is still outstanding and we are looking for him. we are asking for anyone with information to call. as well as, mpd please come forward if they have information. kevin: did the person at the home who was robbed know the suspect or did appear to be a random incident? investigation is very young and officers are trying to figure out what happened. kevin: any body camera footage? >>

to 24 degrees is the spread. even downtown, d.c., baltimore, still into the low to mid 20's. in the teens, those numbers further off to the north and west. throughout the day, only about 30 by lunchtime, 38 by 2 p.m. if you have lunch plans, we have sunshine, but it will be cold. the good news, not as windy. high temperature topping out around 43 degrees, still cold and below average. sunday night into monday, the high pressure goes down to the southeast, starts to bring in warmer air. sunday, it really does not move up too much. we see the big bump tuesday when we get the more mild air pushing in. however, there is a cold front behind that that will bring us rain tuesday afternoon and evening. at 44,e topped out tomorrow 43, mid 50's monday, hitting 60 tuesday, but tuesday afternoon and

a canadian truck driver is thankful tonight after spending two nights trapped in the wreckage of his truck after it slid off the road. passing cars could not see him and he had no cell phone reception, so he just could wait to be found. it still took search-and-rescue an entire day to free him. they had to call another mechanic to free the truck's transmission. coming up, the final look at the forecast.
