community left a devastated after a fire ripped through a home on crown street. firefighters found a woman dead in the back of the house. ryan hughes is joining us in capitol heights with new information. : it's been an emotional day out here. i spoke with that victims family and friends. they identify her as 58-year-old lisa herring. they tell me she was here alone this morning all by herself because her mom was in the hospital battling pneumonia, and when neighbors saw the fire, they rushed across the street, desperately trying to help, but it was too late. >> they always say the good die young. she was a sweetheart. ryan: betty mills breaks down in tears after saying she was the last one to see her best friend lisa herring alive. this morning, her

up saying that leases home on crown street was on fire. her son kicked in the door, but the smoke was too much, so then they try to the side door. >> i had to turn back around, and i was calling her, and she wasn't answering. i couldn't get to her. arrived,n firefighters they quickly put out the flames but found a person dead in the back of the home. mills says lisa was the only one inside. they were together last night celebrating her nephews birthday and drinking until 4:00 in the morning. >> she said she wanted to get in her own bed. ryan: prince george's county ems work to the scene for hours. nilles says her friend was a sweetheart, and it breaks her heart she is gone. >> if you have anybody that you care about, show them love. that is one good thing i do have to hold onto. our last words were good words.

ryan: tackle live, officials tell us this home did not have working smoke alarms, and firefighters were back on the block this afternoon going door to door, checking and testing everyone's smoke alarms. the cause of this fire is still under investigation. family members tell us that lisa has two grown sons. one arrived a short time ago from north carolina. the other one, on his way here. ryan hughes, abc 7 news. horace: this is the third deadly house fire in the area in the last few days. a fire ripped through a rockville home on thursday. friday, firefighters found a man's body in the debris. he was identified as larry a.glia

there is a new facility in upper firefighterselp deal with posttraumatic stress disorder, addiction, and other job-related problems. there is also support for families, the first of its kind. it has 58 beds and a state-of-the-art gym. open to thees association's more than 3000 -- 300,000 members. a chilly weekend. those springlike temperatures will make a return. that's good news. meteorologist josh knight? josh: we are going to look for that warmer weather. unfortunately, we are going to bring in some rain and cloud cover. we had sunshine all day today today. great view and a great sunset from the national harbor, and temperatures, we're switching to that darker shot, but in alexandria, a chill around 33. the good news is we got a break from the winds.

temperatures. horace: we have some breaking news involving president trump's unsubstantiated claims that he was wiretapped by former president barack obama. several news outlets report that fbi director james comey has asked the justice department to publicly refuted the allegations saying, they are not true. this comes as the white house calls on congress to investigate the assertions made by trump on twitter. appearing on "this week," deputy sir huckabeery sanders refused to say where the president received his information. >> if this happened -- >> if, if, if. >> i agree. >> why is the president happen?t did >> i think he's going off of information he has seen that has led him to believe this has a real potential. horace: a spokesperson for former president obama called trump's

former obama secretary josh earnest said trump is trying to distract the public. >> he himself has, at best, not been forthcoming about their talks and ties with russia, whether it's paul manafort, carter page, roger stone, jd gordon, mike flynn, jeff sessions. horace: while the president cannot order a wiretapped, there can be surveillance under the foreign intelligence surveillance act. a former director of national intelligence denied such activity occurred. the manhunt in two counties for two separate dangerous suspects continues. police in prince george's county are looking for the man who robbed someone, then fired at an officer. that officer fired back and chased him into d.c. prince william's county police are looking for the man who stabbed a loss prevention officer outside the burlington coat factory at potomac mills mall. police say 35-

jamal kingsbury stabbed 44-year-old larry drum old after trying to take off with some merchandise. two employees approached him, and that is when he attacked and took off. one died at the hospital. again, prince george's county police, still looking for the man who fired at an officer in heights. police say the officer was investigating a robbery and went after in man who matched the suspects description. that is when the exchange of gunfire happened. mans still unclear if the was injured in the shootout. the officer was not hurt. cong, sadness after a shooting . a wide police are investigating a possible hate crime. >> this definitely ranks up there as a strange one. horace: plus,

horace: developing now, condolences are coming in from around the world after a man of shot in faith was seattle. the victim told police the shooter said "go back to her own country," which echoes the similar shooting of two indian men in kansas last month. police are investigating friday's shooting as a likely hate crime. our belief and opinion based upon the experience of my investigators that our victim is absolutely credible and that this incident did occur as he has described. horace: so far, no one has been arrested. the dim was hit in the arm and has been released from the hospital. the nypd says headstones at a jewish cemetery in brooklyn were not vandalized. investigators say

warmer air to move in. throughout the day monday, here we are at 8:00, still holding on to that dark blue color. it gets a little bit lighter, but tomorrow, it's going to be tough for us to warm up. into tuesday, that warm front lifts through. that is when we get more of that green color through here, and temperatures warm back into the 60's. tomorrow, still starting off cold. about 23 in manassas. some cold spots for early tomorrow morning. as we go throughout the day, we will look for temperatures to make their way up to 55 degrees. the big difference today is going to be the extra cloud cover. heading into tuesday, when we are in the 60's, it shows a pretty late for us. not too much has happened around the metro area. later, right into
