swept through a neighborhood. >> get away from the windows. middle of your house. >> overnight severe storms lashing the heartland. >> tornado on the ground. >> a meteorologist with our kansas city affiliate spotting a twister on the ground east of the city. bright lights lighting up the sky as the winds take out power lines. >> i have power flashes. this is a tornado that is on the ground. >> reporter: on the ground, destruction. golf ball sized hail pelting the area. this rooftop landing in the middle of a road, and this home surrounded by debris, the roof also ripped off. >> it looks like it's roping out there. >> reporter: it wasn't only missouri. a likely twister also in minnesota. if confirmed, it would be a record breaker, the earliest tornado ever to hit that state. >> and there could be more tornadoes and severe storms on the move today. let's get the forecast from paul williams. paul, good morning. >> good morning, diane, kendis.

order. the media not allowed in. a far cry from the fanfare over the first travel ban. >> big stuff. >> reporter: and that is not the only difference. travel ban 2.0 rescinds the original now stalled in courts, addressing some of the red flags raised. the original order, ban citizens from seven muslim majority countries including iraq. now iraq is no longer on the list opening the door for people like translators who worked with the u.s. government. >> this is part of our ongoing efforts to eliminate vulnerabilities that will be exploited for destructive ends. >> reporter: there's not an indefinite ban on refugees from syria. and it scraps protections for rjts minorities like christians. it's after delay upon delay from the white house. >> it's a question of getting it right. >> reporter:hi

travel status changed. he refused to comment to abc news. a customs and border patrol official says they've never heard of a travel review, and they don't contact travelers before their trips. a new associated press poll shows americans divided on immigration, particularly in terms of the types of immigrants. two-thirds say the benefit of admitting legal immigrants outweighs the risk, and when it comes the refugees, 52% say the risks outweigh the benefits. the president is refusing to back away from his claim that president obama wiretapped his phones. despite denials from former intelligence officials. >> the president still has offered no proof to back up the allegation. a former cia director pointed by president bush said that president obama could not have ordered any such wiretapping but sean spicer appeared to double down on that claim today. >> there's no question that something happened.
