weekend and that will be a pretty big player for us when it comes -- comes to getting wintry weather to come through. we need that cold air in place. that is the district. basically, all points to the west is where we have our winter storm warning. , princey in blue george's, anne arundel county, that is still a winter warm watch -- winter stormgeorge's, , that is still a winter warm watch -- winter storm watch. more so a level of confidence. more confident than in these pink areas we will be dealing with accumulating snow they could be quite a mess for some of us. that is for the metro area, especially if we go through dcn off to the west. this low-pressure spinning out, much further out to the west. you can see just getting out of montana into the the coders. that raises across the country for us tonight and by tomorrow night it will be setting off just off the coast. stay nice and quiet

anything but a day of rest for busy road crews. >> this will be our first close down storm. reporter: in northern virginia, vdot got an early start mixing the brine used to pretreat more than 5200 live in miles of area roads ahead of this late winter storm. crucial issueys a for us, especially when we look at rush hours. reporter: thousands of crews, some of whom were already working on springtime tasks like tree trimming, will be back in plow trucks tomorrow crucial af, ready for whatever mother nature brings. maryland, a similar scene, with stripes coding lanes. throughout the day crews have been pretreating interstates, primary and secondary roads. once snow starts to fall, more than 2300 pieces of equipment will hit the road. across the region, folks are being urged to take the next 24 hours to make sure they plan ahead.

those road crews will be watching not only accumulations, but the timing of all of this as well. be watchingals will this so they can determine what service changes, if any, are needed to metro bus and rail. brianne carter, abc 7 news. kimberly: to forget metro access, service will stop running at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow and be suspended all day tuesday. when it comes to the rails, metro says it can operate pretty close to normal when there are snow totals between 4 and 6 inches. you may see some delays. always good to check the metro website before you leave the house straight you can stay a step ahead by signing up for our metro alerts at wjla.com/text. feeling the winter blast south of us, too. several inches of snow fell overnight in tennessee and north carolina.

after a massive fire this morning. you can see significant damage to that house on brougham drive. we're told the fire started under the deck and moved quickly. luckily everyone in that family and their pets made it out safe ly. a man is in critical condition after a fire this morning at a home in bladensburg. it happened around 7:30 in the morning on decatur street. firefighters had to rest to that man as he was rushed to a burn unit. the fire was put out quickly. the possible cause is still under investigation. developing now, the white house has until tomorrow to backup president trump's unsubstantiated claim that he was wiretapped by former president obama. committeeintelligence said that deadline in a letter to the administration. for the second week in and a row, the allegation was a major topic on the sunday morning talk shows. >>

two other girls are in critical condition. stephanie ramos has more. we can't replace her. deep.in is so reporter: a family devastated. ter diedhes' granddaugh this morning after her harrisburg home went up in flames friday with two other children inside. because, a hoverboard. >> they heard sizzling and crackling in the hoverboard and shortly thereafter, it exploded in flames. shy ofr: she was just her third birthday. firefighters were able to rescue two other children. one girl jumping from a second-floor porch to safety. both in critical condition. stop in the morning. on the way home we are right around 37. i want to show you high temperatures for tomorrow. fortunately, fredericksburg we are up to 48 degrees. further north we are going to get up into the 40's. in,he system starts to move i expect road temperatures to be warm enough that most of this melts pretty quickly early on. if this does show up a little bit early, if we get a few snowflakes lying around :00 or evening, i think they will melt and it should not be a problem. when it starts to be a problem is overnight, as temperatures drop and this comes down heavily. tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. we are watching that wave of low pressure and it starts to move over to the coast. models have some of the snow and the rain mixture moving in. this is what we are going to be watching for and this is what makes this forecast so tricky. that wintry mix will be right around d.c., further south. we get more rain further off to the north and

where that lines of is the big question mark for us. this takes us to tuesday morning around 9:30. heavy snow coming down in some places. and then, they're dealing with it and new england. this going to be a big one, especially for this time of year. as we go throughout your tuesday morning and into the afternoon, this is where we will wrap things up. as you get northwest of town, that is where we can see our best chance for totals over 10 inches. some places they could be significantly more than that. 1 foot not out of the estion. it's a sharp cut off as we drop down to the south and closer to d.c. more so 3 to 6 and even less as we go further south. the snow in the d.c. area, that likelihood is very high. that's a very good likelihood as we get into tuesday morning great blizzard conditions, i think we will be ok. the other thing to watch, talking about cold weather taking over, after
