mid-to-upper 30's. tomorrow morning they will take the polar plunge as we like to call it. here is our concern going forward. a massive refreeze tonight. slick roads and the sidewalks. gusty winds, bitter wind chills by tomorrow. it will feel like early january in northern minnesota tomorrow. these are the numbers on the future cast. as far as the wind chills. we see by tomorrow morning like after midnight, the low teens. it will feel that cold. as we get to the early morning the wind chills are single digits to 11 degrees in annapolis. five at hagerstown. five in frederick. it won't warm up that much. air temperatures in the mid-30's. chills in the teens and the 20's. tomorrow night we do it over again with another bitter night and another bout of refreeze of whatever melts tomorrow. is there hope of this thawing out and drying up and going away? sure there is. just not sure when. we will talk more in a

jonathan: thank you. i want to let you know what is going on with the school. the refreeze risk enough to close down prince william schools tomorrow. anne arundel county schools are on a two-hour delay. we will let you know as we hare from the other districts as soon as we do. michelle: no rest for the weary when it comes to the road crews. after a night spent plowing, the crews are gearing up for round two. ice busting. maryland bureau chief brad bell is live in frederick with what is happening now. brad? brad: yeah. so we are at the salt dome in frederick. this is a place we usually come as the storm approach. tonight is likely to be bodies again. the state put out word that 1600 trucks will be out on the roads tonight. loaded up with salt. looking for the hot spots. they have already done a lot of work. we have been out here in frederick county covering the storm since before it began. we were out on the roads this morning. we saw snow-covered roads. but the plows, they got to work. they d

jeff: last night we got five inches of snow. but v dot issuing a warning saying the snow on the pavement could refreeze tonight. we are in a hotel parking lot and want to be safe. this could turn into black ice. the plowing of the snow started early in leesburg and it was working fast. >> roads are getting better by the minute. jeff: for every car that struggled on the roads there was a blue or two nearby clearing -- was a plow or two nearby to clear up the roads. vdot deployed 4,000 pieces of equipment to keep drivers moving. >> it's pretty good. >> the sidewalks are clearing quickly.

now that the snow is gone from the pavement a new threat emerges. >> i'm afraid the water will turn to ice. jeff: that is the concern. vdot will put out the salt to reduce the threat of the black ice. they are warning the drivers to be careful tonight and in the morning's commute. jonathan: there were no snow day for d.c. going to school. there were some delays. across the city, they were clearing sidewalks but even so, the e.m.s. is reporting 10% of the calls they got were because of the people falling down. be careful. michelle: time out on the snow around here but the snow is falling from new jersey to maine. several deaths blamed on the storm including a ne

crashed in a tree. combination of snow, ice, winds destroyed several homes under construction in queens. gusty winds bent 100-foot tall wind turbine in half in rhode island. the news isn't all bad. >> is this your first snow? >> yes. >> what do you think? >> awesome. michelle: he is excited. they escorted a toddler from one hospital to another for a heart transplant in pennsylvania. jonathan: that blizzard prompted cancellations. they were on the ground trying to sleep. this this is people from miami that were stuck in airports. we are told the cancellations will extend to tomorrow. as they remove

it's pretty. we wanted to see how the roads were doing in a rural area. you can see, i got to tell you. shout out to the crews in frederick county, state and local. they didn't hit the main roads, they hit roads like this one here. a lot of folks did driveways well. as badly as we handle snow right near d.c. sometimes, they handle it that well in frederick county. things are looking good here. even though the snow flurries, the roads seem to be drying out a little bit. the places we have been, i have to tell you the roads are doing well in frederick county. i'm tom roussey, abc7 news. jonathan: crews will be happy to hear that. thanks. intense flame and the fire consumes an empty warehouse. i took teams of firefighters an hour to get this. whoa! blow torch out the windows. it took them an hour to get it under control. yikes. in louisiana fire destroyed the home of comedian tyler perry

emmitt perry heard a popping noise, walked outside and saw a roof catching on fire. good thing he got outside. electrical problem is to blame. no one was hurt. michelle: marine corps commandant and the secretary faced pointed and heated questions. at issue is the growing scandal involving the sharing of explicit photos of the female marines, veterans and the other women online. >> general, do you believe that people are sufficiently afraid of degrading their fellow female marines as of this moment? >> based on their actions no, no senator. >> will you promise me there will be a lot of fear coming? >> we will do all we can to hold people accountable. michelle: general robert neller told senators investigators are having trouble identifying those sharing the photos and stopping the spread of spinoff websites. at

michelle: intense video from seattle. s.u.v. plows through two gas pumps and it turns into a fireball. it started when he tried to pass a car and knocked the car in a tree. blew a tire and went airborne to gas pumps. no one was killed. one couple says one decision could have changed that. >> i'm glad we turn around to get something to drink. we voled been at the bus stop as it happened. michelle: that would have been bad. the other car involved hit a tree, splitting in half. critically injuring that driver. police are investigating whether the s.u.v. driver was drunk.

as well. couple of guys going into a gun store in rockville and in 80 seconds they took 35 guns and away they went. the same scenario played out again. this time three people. stephen tschida reports that is sparking fears a theft ring is putting the weapons in the hands of criminals. >> the video shows how they planned the operation. break in. race to display shelves. shatter them. load up unhandguns and long guns. they pulled off the heist at 4:00 thursday morning at gun store no rockville. they made off with a pile of weapons. days later, miles away in chantilly, three suspects pull off a similar heist. burglary alarm alerted police. when they arrived at a gun store, they found it in similar shape to the one in rockville, more than 30 guns

in fairfax county the investigators are comparing notes to determine if the same guy hit both stores and whether a ring of the criminals is targeting area gunshots. the search for the suspects in the crimes continue. police hope they catch the thieves before they sell the guns to the fellow criminals. stephen tschida, abc7 news. jonathan: i know there are folks in a florida neighborhood are worried about the search right here. do you know what he is looking for? a cobra. yeah. florida cobra. cobras are from east asia. the most venomous snake on the planet. one is missing in florida. it escaped from somebody's home. as if they have it as a pet. not sure what that is about. part of the search, they are x-raying a largely saturday, because they think that rep tite -- reptile may have
