look at the numbers and how one local leader thinks he can help. and grab an umbrella before you go tomorrow morning. now, abc 7 news at 11:00 am on your side. kimberly: developing right now, one man is dead, a second recovering after a double shooting in college park. thank you for joining us. i'm kimberly suiters. shooting happened at the college park apartments come across the street from the popular ikea on route one. anna-lysa gayle spoke with a neighbor who called for help. ata-lysa: a fight reported the camden college park apartments turned into a homicide investigation sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. this neighbor called 911 after hearing a commotion. >> i was smoking a

of rustling at the top of the steps. people started running and i heard a bang, and heard some of the say, call 911, call 911. he later learned a man was shot to death inside the apartment holding and a second person -- inside of the apartment building and a second person suffered non-life-threatening injuries. he remembers another murder investigation on the same street two years ago. >> in the parking garage, the second parking garage. so far, no arrests have been made in the latest homicide investigation and the victim has not been identified. anna-lysa gayle, abc 7 news. kimberly: tonight, a prince george's county family is struggling through their painful emotions after 15-year-old dennis taylor was gunned down last night. the police believe he may have been targeted. friends

is no way we are getting out this way. cheryl: the fire started on the first floor of the hillwood manner apartments at about 4:15. >> i'm like, we are up here, please let us out. cheryl: about five people had to be rescued, all on the second floor. nobody was transported to the hospital, but they were evaluated on scene. valentine showed is video of the letters going up to make the rescues. shia suspicious about what she heard. >> it sounded like somebody threw something into the house. nobody was home, there were no candles. they are telling us it was a crime scene. cheryl: an investigator went into the building. and explosive investigators are here from maryland county fire and rescue, working to determine the cause of origin. cheryl: it's likely the people who lived in the apartment will be up to stay there anytime soon. cheryl conner, abc 7 news.

jumping the fence by the treasury building. wahl was caught by her shoelaces early tuesday morning trying to jump the white house fence. wednesday she was charged with unlawful entry and contempt of court and issued a "stay away" order, but she was arrested again wednesday near lafayette square and was released until this morning. happening now, growing national attention to missing persons cases in the district. local leaders are continuing to try to find ways to help the situation. beenlysa gayle has following this developing story and putting it into context, because people are alarmed by the numbers. she spoke with a leader from ward eight. anna-lysa, we are curious about the solution. marcus baxter is meeting tomorrow with members of the community to talk about things they can continue to address concerning missing children, especially young

girls. even though city leaders have repeatedly said they have not seen an increase in missing persons cases in the nation's capital, it continues to be a hot topic, especially on social media, with people using hashtags. >> i think a lot of us in the community came together after this became a national issue and said, what can we do not to fuel the flames or hysteria, but to have a positive impact on young women. anna-lysa: although social media is being used as a tool to increase knowledge, it has some downsides. >> a lot a false information, exaggerated information. anna-lysa: at last check, there were 10 teenagers missing, boys and girls, who the police are still searching for. on average, more than 2000 juveniles have been r

>> we should have at answers a long time ago. what i will say now is, now that there is a focus, we know 2000 missing cases is far too many. it's far too many. he will join other community members for an event at 3 p.m. at a high school where they will distribute information for those in places, especially young women. kimberly: the campaign is also about spreading correct information. there have been fears across the country of human trafficking, and that is why the girls are missing? anna-lysa: yes, and the police have said multiple times they have seen no link to that. getting accurate information is the main thing going on right now as the police continue to update their website, doing so more frequently as of late. kimberly: it's not that more girls are missing, but more information being disseminated. anna-lysa: correct.

but mid 50's and 60's are not that far off. this mild air mass takes over tomorrow. we were basically stuck on the wrong side of this frontal boundary. butas chilly all day long, this cold front works its way backwards for us. the warmer air surges in from the south, allowing temperatures to warm overnight and through the day tomorrow, going from the 50's, 60's, into the mid-70's. the warm air sticks around tuesday. the downside is it will bring some showers. keep in mind they may slow you down, but this is rain that we really need. a lot of the area still under a severe drought. it may slow you down, but it is something we need. a few showers early in the morning, we dry out from about 10:00 until about 2:00. then isolated showers in the afternoon, but a lot of the day will be dry and more sunshine tomorrow as well. i think monday is looking pretty good. tuesday, we start off dry
