q: straight ahead on abc news at 6:30, an early case of summer? temperatures soared on this easter sunday, and some rain creek to enter it we are keeping an eye on the sky as we wrap up this holiday weekend. this morning. let's get a look at the forecast with stormwatch 7 meteorologist josh knight. what we are, watching for a some showers. moving through pittsburgh, working its way through new york. the good news is, it does had our way. i expected to weaken quite a bit. at this point, the only showers we have around our area right now are really hanging out either in -- farther into the north. hanging over st. mary's county and closer to the bay and calvert county. for most of us, we are trying out. we see a few more toward the blue ridge mountains. basel push off to the east as well, bringing some light showers. our chance for heavier rain in a better chance for thunder and lightning will come overnight. you'll notice i 9:45 p.m., we start to bring in that line. the chance comes in again overgh

we could see a few showers for the beginning of our egg roll at the white house. here is a look at temperatures -- we go from the 80's to the mid-60's tomorrow morning. it is going to be a mild start. we will take a closer look at your money and a pretty big drop in temperatures coming up in 10 minutes, q. q: thank you, josh. we have a crime alert out of alexandria. police are looking for a gunman who took aim at an apartment building, 3700 block of kenmore avenue. that is not far from another shooting that happened on wednesday night. no one was injured in either case. also in prince george's county, police are to identify a woman murdered along springdale avenue. as ryan hughes boards, she was found after knocking on someone or, looking for help. >> who would kill someone on easter sunday? we have to stop this foolishness. neighbors are shoed

crime scene on easter sunday. police lined tape on the 3300 block of springdale avenue as detectives investigate homicide. a woman was found stabbed and pronounced dead at the hospital. >> this is a quiet street. we do not have things like this happen. it is unfortunate. the womance tell us knocked on the door that home before collapsing in the front yard. officers arrive at 8:25 a.m. this morning and found the woman in critical condition. it just does not seem like a logical stories to me. us nothis neighbor asked to use her name. she is puzzled after seeing police picking up evidence two doors down from her home. >> i have door -- i have daughters. it seems like a random act. ryan: police say the victim did not have any idea

it more difficult for investigators to figure out if the stabbing happened in the neighborhood or somewhere else. detectives are also focusing their attention on this silver car parked in front of the home. >> this is real surprising, easter sunday, real surprising. ryan: police are looking for leads to help solve this mysterious murder. ryan hughes, abc 7 news. q: sheriff's deputies say a 49-year-old woman was found dead at the adult detention center in fairfax county just after 9:00 a.m. she has not been identified yet, but we know she has been in custody since wednesday. right now, detective say there is no apparent sign of trauma. back to maryland, and charles county, to be exact, two people are dead and four others are recovering after a crash on levittown road. -- leonardtown road. a jeep cherokee rear-ended a server been near cracklingtown road. the

hitting a tree and a telephone pole. we found out the driver and the front seat passenger of the suburban both died. police say speed and alcohol were a factor in this unfortunate crash. [shutter clicking] of silence at virginia tech this morning after governor terry mcauliffe laid a wreath in honor of the 32 people who died there 10 years ago today. northern virginia bureau chief jeff goldberg is with us now. a very emotional day. jeff: a very emotional day, and laying ceremony taking place at 9:43, the exact moment the rampage took place 10 years ago today. governor terry mcauliffe putting out a statement saying he hopes people will use this moment to ensure a tragedy like this will not happen again. there

some images. offense of been happening all we get an all day to mark this afternoon in which the biography of each of the 32 victims were read aloud. to 20,000 people were expected at virginia tech today to mark the occasion, including family members and friends of the early two people killed on that day. 17 others were also injured during that shooting rampage. virginia senator tim kaine with governor at the time of the shooting. he was actually in tokyo, japan at the time of the shooting. he flew back to virginia. kaine still calls april 16, 2007 the "worst day" of his life. know thee: to biographies and stories of these 32, i began to have a sense of what the commonwealth lost, of what the country lost, of what the nation lost and the world lost on april 16, 2007. jeff:

night, a candle at the april 16 memorial was lit to mark the start of this day of remembrance. leaders and family members will gather tomorrow for a candlelight vigil in honor of the 32 victims. q: thank you, jeff. developing now, after north korea's failed missile launch, vice president pence is in south korea today, kicking off his 10-day asian tour. david wright has more of the growing tensions. david: north korea's new missile launch failed her u.s. commanders say it blew up almost immediately after lifting off from a launchpad. after landing, the vice president addressed u.s. troops stationed a few miles away. bp pence: this morning's provocation from the north is just the latest reminder of the risks each one of you face every day. abc news was granted unprecedente

out of here, and the cloud cover really breaking down as well. the only spots hanging onto a few showers will be parts of st. mary's county, charles county, and into calvert county. farther to the west, a few showers on the other side of the blue ridge mountains. those will continue moving east, so fredericksburg, you might see a few light showers. the rain picking up overnight will be this moving through state college right now. a lot of this will move to the west, but it does bring us a chance, especially after 9:00, to bring in more rain. maybe as you are getting ready to let out the dog one more time, we will have a chance for some spotty rain, and even thunderstorms that hold together, but not as strong as what is moving through right now. tonight, 59 to 66. another mild morning to start us off tomorrow, and just some spotty showers by early on. most of us are looking good to start the day. here we are at 7:00 this evening, pretty joy, then as we get to about 10:00, some more of that rain starts to move

north. d.c. not as likely to see that fear 7:00 tomorrow morning, spotty showers around, and they do push across the metro area, especially as you get to about 10:00. we will hang onto that chance until just after lunchtime. after that, all the rain does start to drop down further to the south. fredericksburg could be hanging on to the showers until about 3:00 in the afternoon. for dinnertime, finally skies will clear out, and we will get some more sunshine. that chance of rain definitely with us early on. tuesday, check this out, clear skies, things are looking pretty nice. it will be one of the nicer days this week. more cloud cover, 66 in the morning tomorrow, a few showers, that chance threw about lunchtime, then 76 in the afternoon. as we get into tuesday, 70's, sunshine. wednesday will be our cloudier day. 64. it is a quick back up to 82 degrees on thursday. hanging around 71 by the time we get to friday.
