president. our john gonzalez is at the white house with more on the excitement there. john? >> good afternoon. it is easter monday here at the white house and as the president said woman's ago, it is a tradition that has gone on for over 100 years. the rain, really coming down now but that is not stopping families from all over the country. many of them still arriving. others are gone for the day. did you know that they actually use real eggs for the eggroll? the first white house easter egg role for president donald trump and first lady veronica trump -- melania trump, this is her first big of the men she to organize. both were seen greeting visitors on the truman balcony which bases the south lawn where children have been rolling those colored hard-boiled eggs since 7:30 this morning. it was drier than. some families were concerned. they told me they

steady rainfall, and that is moving through the metro area now. southern maryland hasn't had much rain yet. more of it coming your way. all the farms and fields will enjoy this area so a good rainfall. maybe half an inch with these heavier bands coming through. the outlook, we will get up around 70. we will see some sun later this afternoon and early this evening. we will dry things up very quickly but tomorrow we do that with plenty of sunshine in the forecast. futurecast for this afternoon shows the rain long gone for the metro area. the clearing starts to move in a little bit later in the afternoon and we will be good to go. the changes in temperatures this week. a lot you may want to learn in the next 10 days. we've got that forecast coming up in about 12 minutes. >> we will see you then. now a barricade situation in fairfax county going into 16 hours. a man experiencing some ty

come out of his home and there are two children inside with him . they have been at the scene all day long. ryan is here now at noon. has any progress been made? as of yet. we are being told this is a very tense and fluid situation. police have been in contact with that man barricaded in that home several times over the phone throughout the morning but he still refuses to surrender. look behind me. police still remain on. roads are blocked off in the neighborhood. they have been at this for hours and hours. it all started around 8:00 last night when a call came in to friend,rom the man's the caller saying his friend was it. thing some sort of mental crisis . fairfax county police and the swat team responded to the 8600 block of thomas j stockton parkway in the forefront area. -- the fort hunt area.

children, they are four and eight years old. even though he hasn't made any threats to them we are told it makes this a more difficult sensitiven a situation. sirens were blaring throughout the neighborhood but for most of the morning it is a technique to try to get the man to surrender. he refused and that has left neighbors with little street and a lot of concerns. take a listen. now, police believe that man has not made any threats to his children but they believe he did make threats to harm himself. they are concerned for his welfare as well as the welfare of the children. we are told negotiators will continue to try to talk with him, to gain a report -- a rapport

live in fairfax county, ryan hughes. >> now an all-out manhunt across five states for the man who shot and killed an elderly man at random and posted the video on facebook. emily rowe with the latest. >> a plea from cleveland police chief morning after a man posted this alarming video online. the fbi and cleveland police on a desperate manhunt for steve stevens who they believe is responsible for a random act of cold-blooded murder. he claims he has killed more than a dozen others but police say there is no evidence supporting that. .ive states now on high alert authorities say they received a thing from his cell phone, eriected near e pennsylvania. he is driving a white ford fusion. >> obviously he had deep issues and we want to get him off the scene as soon as possible. he allegedly approached 74-year-old robert godwin

term. they are excited to announce opinions tuesday and wednesday and they will hear the last several -- scheduled sitting of the time. in elementary school in san bernardino has reopened one week after a deadly shooting. lasses at north park elementary school this morning. security has tightened and counselors are on hand for students and staff. the school had been closed since last monday since a man walked into his estranged wife's classroom, killing her and an eight-year-old student before turning the gun on himself. a majorirlines making change following that video showing a passenger being dragged off a plane. it will no longer allow crew members to displace customers who have already boarded a plane. the change also requires staff and crew to check in at least 60 minutes before a flight. that way they can't bump anybody off at the last minute. but they are making a headline for kicking a couple off as they were headed to a destination wedding.

were traveling to costa rica where they were landed back in the terminal. someone wanted a seat so they moved up a few rows and when a flight attendant asked whether work in their assigned seats that started it off. >> they said they would get us transportation and a hotel for apparently no reason the fact that we were in the wrong seat. even though we moved to the right seats we were still taken off the plane and after that became up, they said "we will give you a 50% voucher" but then nothing. >> the airline claims the couple tried to sit in an upgraded seat repeatedly and wouldn't follow crew instructions. the couple was rebooked for another flight. >> ok doug. with all this rain i want to take flight out of here somewhere. >> it is going to pass. drought formoderate large portions of the area and the rain washed pollen, this is a good sign.

then -- so here is our story. we will give you a time lapse. here is our sky from the county high school in laurel. asudy skies, even cloudier we work in the morning and some of the rain ahead of a cold front moving in. still raining at the moment. we continue to see rain for a couple more hours in many parts of the viewing area. this is live doppler in the district. intense a line of more rainfall, nothing dramatic. that is moving through the metro area back south to manassas. past rest and in leesburg, the rain pattern breaking up. it is on its way out. it is a cold front. it is taking time out pretty quickly. it actually looks like a cold front with the rain lining up ahead of it, clearing skies behind the front. areas of sunshine between central and south virginia. this tense mid april's son -- the rain has cooled the air. weil

you can see quantico, fredericksburg, the front has not arrived yet. we are still in the 70's but is definitely cooler to the north and west. futurecast shows how quickly things clear out this afternoon. i 5:30 the metro area should be around 70 degrees. as we the southeast and get to the overnight, plenty of clearing skies by early tomorrow morning and another on tap tomorrow. sunshine in the lower 70's. another system will roll in with more rain possibilities on wednesday. pickup times of the school bus tomorrow, 64 degrees and 73 degrees dismissal time. plenty of sunshine's. here are the next 10 days. lower 70's and turning cooler with the next best of showers wednesday. then a warm front rolls through on thursday. showers and storms could hit 82, clearing skies on friday. then we go into a cooler stretch. it is not cold like we had in march earlier.
