monitoring this from the capitol hill bureau. you had been in paris in an aftermath of a similar scene, a bigger attack. what can you tell us about this? scott: you are right. i was even there two weeks ago to work on more stories how the current status of the terror investigations relates to what is happening in france politically. this is what we know. you have an officer dead. perhaps one other who is seriously wounded who may in the grave condition as well. possibly a third officer may have been shot. the asilliant in the case described as -- assailant in this case described as flagged by the french authorities as a possible terror suspect and someone of concern. he was killed in the shootout. in the past 20 minutes, the isis has claimed responsibility for this attack. that is unusually quick for the organization to come out with that claim. but that is what is reported now through the french police and the french media.

jonathan: a quick update on the attack that took place on the street of paris, france. specifically, the famed champs élysees. isis is now claiming responsibility for the attack. a police officer outside of a train station sitting his car was shot to death. two others were hurt. other police in the area opened fire killing the gunman who now we understand was looked at, as an extremist. he had been flagged by authorities. there is now a search going on for possible accomplices. this comes three days ahead of the french presidential election. michelle: surreal scene along a california highway. a tractor trailer dragging a car for almost a mile. you see it there. the car's driver rolled down the window frantically waving at the truck driver. all this as the other drivers blare their horns trying to get the truck driver to stop.

eventually a car gets in the truck's way to stop it. then a confrontation. >> i didn't know it. >> what do you mean you didn't know it, dude? he is on your truck. michelle: like if you don't know that is happening you probably shouldn't be driving. jonathan: houston, we have a problem. michelle: no one was hurt. police are investigating but say at this point it appears to be an accident. jonathan: how do you not know you are dragging a truck down the road? michelle: i don't know. all the people honking. jonathan: what it took to get the beltway back open after the tractor trailer crashed on the side. do you see it? the truck? we have the video. sped it up. shows highway truck pushing it out of the way. all said it took an hour at the beginning of the rush hour to get it out of the way and get it reopened. it was a mess. jonathan: a violent collision ends in a police chase. watch this. >> right there! jonathan: it is always the chopper pilots. they get worked up. the car thief slammed into a vehicle with a father and a
