two of us in a new way. make sure that you choose him, and you choose an adventure in your marriage every single day. >> i love the chapter with the french women. they're sort of surprising. and it is interesting because they're extremely independent. i think sometimes we worry about being feminists but also being independent. how do you, how does an independent woman get married and spend her whole life with a man? >> the best advice that i got is that when you get married you don't become one. it's complete bs to think that you become one person. you have to stay independent. you have to travel on your own. the french told me that you should sleep one night a week without your spouse to make them miss you. to make them remember how good it is when you are there. >> just in another room? >> in another room. spend the night on a business trap. travel alone. so that you can come back to the marriage with exciting interesting things to say. and i think one of the thing that i learned from all of the cultures is the thing that kills a marriage is boredom. we can choose to be bored or we can choose to actually make marriage a really fun

your new husband, where did you get the best advice, most applicable advice that you are putting into your life every day? >> every single day. so we melt this crazy marriage therapist in the jungle of mexico. who gave us this really useful advice that -- every night before we go to bed, we actually talk to each other for five minutes. the other person can't talk. they just listen for five minutes. and, that's -- that's tough. >> really hard. but more about the listening than it is abut tout the talkin. it helped us get out all the things weird, strange, that we didn't know we wanted to talk about early on in our marriage. been great. doing it since the day after we got married. >> i love it. give us, not just, brides, grooms, newlyweds. anybody in a marriage. best five tips you learned on the journey? >> the french are serious that you should close the bathroom door. too many americans are not closing the bathroom door. it l
