this is aerly, well-known exxon station. the d.c. police a robbery took place outside of the store and the victim helped catch the suspect, one of the suspects darius clark of pennsylvania, but d.c. police are still looking for another suspect. jennifer, who do not want to give her last name or show her face, manages the exxon station on macarthur boulevard. just before 2:00, two men walked into the store. >> they were very nice, very polite. jeff: and at some point got into an argument. >> one guy jumped in the car and took off, and the other guy started chasing him. jeff: the car crashed about 50 feet from the gas station. the police say one of the suspects was carrying a bag of money and while fleei

through the air and onto the ground. an off-duty law enforcement officer who witnessed the crash held one of the suspects until the police arrived on scene. >> that's pretty crazy. nothing like that happens here. >> i've been walking up and down the street for 35 years and have not seen anything like that here. jeff: this quiet section of macarthur turned into a crime scene, and one of the suspects is still on the loose. >> these guys are running as fast as they can. i'm not too worried. jeff: many questions remain unanswered. like where did the bag of money come from and why was the victim targeted outside of the exxon? we know that the cash that was found on the ground was picked up by witnesses and given back to the police. jeff goldberg, abc 7 news. kimberly: developing now in queens, new

searching for answers in the fire,of a deadly house explosive flames shooting from the windows of a two-story house. five people are dead, three of them children. the flames spread to a second house. neighbors and the new york mayor are in shock. closer to home, a family of four and several others were forced to escape flames racing through an apartment building in fort washington. the cause is still under investigation, but the homeowner said he flipped on a light switch and minutes later black smoke filled the room. >> climbed back up, grabbed the second baby, climate back down, and got her. kimberly: some amazing rescues. two people taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. all are expected to be ok. right now, we are talking caps

montgomery county looks to reduce the growing number of hate crimes in the area. to thesa gayle goes kickoff with maryland attorney general and community leaders taking the charge. anna-lysa: montgomery county leaders have been fighting back following an increase in hate crimes. number have documented a of hate incidents in maryland as well. anna-lysa: this time, up to 50 organizations are joining forces. all of it is related to bias, and we have a hard time getting help. anna-lysa: sunday they celebrated the launch of the nonpartisan organization known as communities united against nd organizers, a are hoping that surrounding counties will start similar initiatives. the attorney general

50 degrees monday morning. further outside of the metro area is where we have cooler temperatures. the problem is we do not warm up very much from there. this area of low pressure is spinning over northern parts of georgia, and it is slowly working its way over to the coast. this takes us into monday morning. showers move in. this sticks around a lot of the day. up, we getow sets this easter lee breeze that continues monday and tuesday. that really keeps things cooler and quite a bit of cloud cover. could see drier weather monday evening and monday night. tuesday morning, another wave of heavy rain moves in. that sticks around the majority of the day. tuesday morning is still off the coast of virginia beach then starts to move out. that means wednesday we are still hanging on to morning showers and cloudy skies.

started painting. now the bright artwork is selling for thousands of dollars. is very unique, and each piece is really different. i feel like i need to do this. kimberly: his mom is selling his artwork to help them purchase a diabetic alert dog and to assist children with diabetes. you never know who is watching. and atlanta falcons wide receiver learned that lesson after a flight. he tweeted on a message he got from a fellow passenger. he said the note definitely put a smile on his face. the falcons called him a role model, both on and off the field.
