ryan hughes is live at reagan national with what they are upset about. ryan? ryan: lindsey, good afternoon. these workers are protesting and walking off the job one week after getting a significant a race. today is not about the money -- it is about respect. you can hear the chants. they have been going at this for little over an hour. hundreds of contracted service workers are protesting what they say are federal labor violations against their employer. the union is accusing the company of interrogating, harassing workers. vp of the union says this has been going on for two years, and some workers were even fired. now they are sending a big message by striking. we did something good last week, which was to change -- take a step in

in delaware, the suspect accused of killing a state trooper is dead. sam sweeney has been following the story all morning. he is a happy live desk with the latest. sam: that state trooper was stephen ballard. he graduated from bowie and that she grew up in buoy and graduated from bowie high school . eller phillies had been in a tense standoff with the man -- delaware police had been in a with the man. on that long, the suspect had fired random shots at police. at point, officers also detonated explosives around at home. the barricade situation started after the suspect shot trooper ballard in a wawa parking lot. trooper ballard was approaching a suspicious car. the suspect exited the car, opened

the language associated with my name was not accurate. lindsey: hamilton said delta refunded him part of his ticket costs but left him to find his own way back to milwaukee. meanwhile, united airlines is taking action after this incident when a passenger was violently old off a flight. the airline is making changes to make sure it never happens again. suzanne kennedy has more. lessne: this move comes than three weeks after an incident with a passenger went viral, rocking consumer confidence with the airline. this cell phone video shows 59-year-old dr. david dao being forcibly removed from an aircraft. there are changes made overnight after reviewing the incident and procedures. the airline raised the limit customers will be paid for getting off a seat from $350 to $10,000. the airline will reduce but not eliminate overbooking. it will stop using police to remove passengers from an

from northern california -- a massive rockslide sends a highway crew scribbling for safety. the footage was caught by a driver on the road. fortunately, no one was hurt. that is a close call. doug: wow. and at nighttime, too. here, nothing excited like that. we have sunshine, warmer temperatures. initially, a very warm touch of summer heading our way. it is underway as we speak. take a look at what is happening around the area, one of our weatherbug cameras in bethesda, 77 degrees. ande is some haze cloudiness, but the sun is shining through, warming is a quickly. during the rest of the afternoon, i think everyone in the viewing area will be under mostly sunny skies. the places are cooler, places with cloudiness hanging on. frederick 66, but 79

luray. it will be a warm day, plenty of sunshine, heading to the lower to middle 80's this afternoon. tonight, after sunshine -- sunset, clouds roll in. the culprit could deliver a few showers to the area. we will track this eastward to the evening hours. in fact, futurecast gets us through seventh: 30 tonight -- gets us through 7:30 tonight, still around the 80 degree mark with south and southeasterly winds keeping it warm and kind of muggy, too. move tonight, the showers across interstate 81, and we get to midnight, that is when the front and showers will come through. could be a brief downpour, rumble of thunder, but these are pretty aggressive.

in the out of the picture quickly. back to another warm and sunny day tomorrow. the apple blossom festival kicks off in winchester tomorrow. warm and humid, upper 80's, afternoon thunderstorms saturday and a bit cooler, clouds, mid-70's in winchester on sunday. our extended outlook now, warm, warm, warmer the next few days, cooler on sunday with easterly wind, warmer again with increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms on monday, and then tuesday and wednesday, just about perfect weather for early may, and then we get into the end of the week, and changes. it looks like a pretty large pattern change that will drop temperatures only to the upper 50's to around 60 by the end of next week and next weekend. we will keep an eye on that. maybe it will change, maybe it won't. lindsey: the next round of nhl playoffs kicks off tonight at the capitals center. the penguins knocked out the caps in the same round last year. the games start at 7:30.
