>> chaos in the cabin as a passenger jet hits unexpected severe turbulence. the pilot had no warning. >> 27 passengers including four children were left bruised and some bloodied, some even ended up with broken bones. abc's gio benitez has the story. >> reporter: the video is dramatic. passengers, bloodied, bruised, some with broken bones. thrown around the airplane from moscow to bangkok. look at the mess, several passengers undergoing surgeries. the plane slammed by clear air turbulence. this happens when there is a disturbance between two jet streams and the plane flies in between them. passengers on the flight saying they were hurled on to the ceiling. the pilots unable to give any warning. many were out of their seats when the turbulence hit out of nowhere. >> when you are sitting

healthy baby. three hours after he was born. when attentive nurse at cedar sigh na, was checking him out, heard a murray in his heart. common. also noticed he was a bit purple which is not common. asked me to come with her. now all of a sudden it felt serious. the room started to fill up. more doctors and nurses. and equipment started coming in. and, they determined he wasn't getting enough oxygen into his blood. did an x-ray. lungs were fine. which meant his heart wasn't. now more doctors and nurses and, and, a terrifying thing. you know my wife is back in the recovery room. she has no idea what is going on. i'm standing in the middle of a lot of worried looking people. kind of like right now. they did an echocardiogram. sonogram of the heart found billy was born with -- a heart disease.

something called pulmonary atrigia, the pulmonary valve was blocked and a hole in the wall between the left and right sides of his heart. monday morning, a doctor opened his chest and fixed one of the two defects. went in with a scalpel, did magic that i couldn't begin to explain. opened the valve. the operation was a success. the longest three hours of my life. it was a success. this poor kid what he looked like on monday. but this is what he looked like yesterday. poor kid, not only got a bad heart, got my face. >> quite transformation. we should mention, billy kimmel's operation went well. he is at home with mom,
