latest on the investigation. know how he got into the elevator? jeff: the thought right now, kimberly, is he was following a resident inside the condo complex. arlington police have canvassed the area all day in and around the complex. still no suspect in custody, but they are following up on leads. the attack has left the victim with serious injuries and left the neighborhood in shock. the surveillance photos show the man trying to enter the building from the garage and front door, making no effort tconceal his identity. once inside, the police say he committed a brutal sexual assault. >> really scared. lived atse people have the condo for a year. >>

especially this building, no problems in the past. jeff: at about 9:30 this morning, the man was on a floor of the atrium, knocking on doors, claimed to be a maintenance worker. many residents who were suspicious did not open their door, but one woman in her 50's open the door come at which point the suspect forced his way inside and physically and sexually assaulted her. >> just hearing about it, my heart dropped down to my feet. i cannot believe that is actually in our building. >> there was a significant assault. jeff: arlington police say that it appears the man piggybacked behind another resident to get inside before committing the crime. asked me if i had heard screaming earlier that day. jeff: this woman lives on the 10th floor and spoke with an officer who was standing guard outside of the neighbor's unit. >>
