as for they are looking for, the metropolitan police department is working on a description of them and the truck as we speak. southeast, i'm q mccray for abc 7 news. you.ey: thank mayor muriel bowser addressed the recent cleanup of d.c. streets to rid them of several illegal drugs and guns. suzanne kennedy has more on how the mayor plans to tackle more crime. suzanne: the mayor and the new chief of police say they are having great success in getting a legal guns and drugs off the streets of washington, d.c. mayor bowser and chief newsham announcing in a press conference at the arctic's enforcement used has already recovered -- narcotics enforcement unit has already recovered more guns here mandated in 2016 to last year, they seized 42 monster so far this year, they have 49. the unit has changed the focus from low-level drug users to suppliers who distribute drugs in d.c. communities. mayor bowser:

monday, the airline bringing the -- blaming the pilot for work slowdown in the middle of contract talks. >> very tense, very angry people. everybody had places to be. emily: that move prompted a temporaryssue a restraining order to the pilots back to work and tensions below boiling. this brawl on board a southwest jet that landed in burbank shows a flight attendant caught in the middle. >> you see the stewardess trapped below come in between the seats on the ground, and she is being pummeled. emily: southwest giving props to its employees, calling them everyday heroes. but this kansas city nurse not feeling the love from united. >> i am going to need to go. this is urgent. i have an overactive bladder. can i use the restroom? emily: she says there was no mercy from the flight attendant, leaving her no choice but to

>> there was just no customer service, no compassion. emily: that woman posting her story on facebook because she said she could not get united to acknowledge her complaint. both cell phone video and social media playing big part in this ongoing story. and caught in camera -- a school bus fully engulfed in flames in south carolina, and now parents are thinking the driver for her quick action. she got all students off the bus in the nick of time. two students said they smelled smoke coming from the back of the bus. the driver immediately got ever be off. minutes later, that bus caught fire. this is a wild scene out west. a bear on the loose in california met his match. this dog chased after the bear, which is more than twice its size. finally, the bear is that it did a dip in someone's backyard pool

maybe two inches of rainfall by the time the whole pattern gets out of here sometime on saturday afternoon. for today, no rain, sunshine, a few clouds, 72. 66 tomorrow with showers developing throw today and periods of rain, highs only near 60 degrees. looking ahead to the weekend, only 59 for a high on of rangersth periods showers could hang in until later in the afternoon, but most all models went to the fact that by sunday, we turn breezier and warmer with sunshine and highs about 72 degrees. here is a look at the next seven days. we will add three more for you. as we see the numbers go down a bit, but mother's day, we pop back up to 72. even though we have rain, we think by the time d.c. united takes on philadelphia on saturday evening, things will be starting to clear up a bit. next week looks gorgeous, plenty of sunshine, temperatures at above

an emergency in washington state after a tunnel ,ollapses -- inside nuclear material. here is matt gutman. >> respond to the tunnel for a possible collapse. "make trouble 200 miles -- matt: 200 miles from seattle, a portion of a tunnel collapsed where radioactive material is stored. >> they told us to take over to make sure we were all safe and accounted for. matt: in these areas, you can see right into the tunnel holding the radioactive material, now a gaping hole, triggering fears of a radioactive leak. facilityace near a where plutonium is extracted for -- was extracted for nuclear weapons back in the 1980's. the only worked there the cleanup of enough radioactive debris to fill the superdome.
