live in springfield to show us exactly what happened. ryan. ryan: the captain believes that this fire started near the cab of one of the fire trucks in the garage. the crews are still out here, cleaning up this mess. it is pretty rare for firefighters to jump out of bed, put their gear on, and battle a fire at their own station, but even with their quick response, there is still a lot of damage out here. >> we don't like to go to someone's emergency, and we don't want to go to ours, but it happened. ryan: fairfax county firefighters did not have to go far to battle a blaze. the fire alarms inside the fire station activated around 1:00 this morning. 11 firefighters have your medics were on duty. they got out, called 911, and then jumped into action. >> from the area it occurred, it was somewhere around the front of the cap. ryan: this firetru

by about 10:00, we did not even need the jacket anymore. that is more to come. we are tracking temperatures in the upper 80's to low 90's, so get ready. it will be feeling more like august. we can see a little bit of cloud cover left over here and that is what we are stuck with. a little bit of an increase in cloud cover. that is the moral of the story. blue skies mixing here near national. both westerly winds have been kicking in all day long. some of the peak wind gust have been getting to 35 miles per hour near frederick and hagerstown. look at our 24 hour temperature change, so we are 20 degrees warmer from baltimore to annapolis, including andrews and purchase bird, so feeling much better compared to the 50's that we saw yesterday. the d.c. area made it to 80 degrees. overnight lows tonight starting in the 70's at 7:00
