the driver of the suv refused to stop and there was a chase which ended with two police officers discharging their weapons. the suspect left the vehicle, had a weapon, shots were exchanged. the suspect was hit and eight was rendered by both city police and he was flown to fairfax hospital. >> shots were exchanged? >> we fired shots, undetermined if he shot. he did display a weapon. >> police said there was a female juvenile inside the black suv who was not harmed. it was unclear if charges have been filed. the police officers involved were also uninjured. in prince william county, john gonzalez. >> a fatal hit and run overnight in clinton, maryland, prince george's county police say

across the kentucky and west virginia line with a number of severe thought -- thunder storm warnings with that, that is drifting east and northeast but nothing close to us at the moment. that could change. through the afternoon, quincy futurecast, 6:00 we will have scattered showers and storms and temperatures will drop into the lower-80's because of the rain. later tonight, as the cold front gets closer, more storms possible through 9:30 10:00 tonight and temperatures fall more overnight. early tomorrow morning, a few lingering showers and most of tomorrow will be cloudy with temperatures 70 or so. maybe lower-70's in a few spots with sunshine. in baltimore, the preakness at pimlico, gates open early and the race time is 6:45. i think things will be dry at that time and on the cool side. a taste of arlington onun

like -- and sounds like nine hours is too much time but you have to look at what the child is doing and the effect it is having on their life. one child, josh, 14 years old in michigan who basically stopped going to school. stayed up all night long playing until 3:00 in the morning and refusing to stop and becoming violent with his parents try to make them stop. this happened in the course of one year, he built his own computer and his parents thought it was great, what a smart kid. then they lost them in a year but he claims he was addicted to his computer. it is controversial and there are people who say there is no such thing as a day -- as addiction to digital devices and many people who develop these issues with digital devices have underlying issues like anxiety or depression.

the world health organization and year set to declare digital addiction to be an actual illness. we are looking into three families grappling with it. lindsey: what are the warning signs families can look for to stop it before it become such a huge problem? >> is your child becoming too emotional or aggressive when you try to take away the phone or laptop? are they starting to drop out or opt out of extracurricular activities? and, god forbid, are they stopping going to school, which is a clear sign. i am the mother of two young boys and him arguing and fighting with them over how much time they spent on their laptops and ipads and iphones. doing this, you see a different side of where this can take you. my children are still playing basketball and going to school and their grades are fine. if that
