the future of the purple line and it puts the whole project back in limbo. transportation reporter brianne carter has the details. brianne: a 12-page opinion issued here. the u.s. district judge richard leon says another look is needed to see what impact metro's issues may have on the purple line. it states that the federal transit administration and the state of maryland failed to take a requisite hard look at the impact. wmata safety issues could have on the project. the judge ordered the two to prepare analysis of the impact. the 16-mile light rail from bethesda to new carrollton is expected to get $900 million in federal money but some are concerned this could put it all at risk. tonight larry hogan is calling the ruling disappointing but not entirely surprising saying in a statement the fact it took a federal judge this long to reach a conclusion that more study is needed is baffling. and if allowed
