downstream here. continuing southeast for 20 to 30 minutes. there is a chance of a severe storm possibly causing tornado to develop. show you the towns here. berryville in a couple of minutes. clark county health clinic at the same time. that is down the street. they have put this warning out and they will continue to examine the storm. don't want to forget about the other warnings. one is in the same area until 6:30. the second until 6:30. more tremendous amount of the lightning and large hail. quarter size. moving east at 30 miles per hour. dale city is affected here 6:38. sooner in brantsville and for a couple of the small systems they are kicking up a heck of a fuss with lightning and the winds.

doug: doug hill live in the stormwatch7 weather center with steve rudin. tornado warning for another 20 minutes now. just south of berryville and headed southeast at 30 miles per hour. most of the worst of the storm is north but there is the friend right there. steve: one thing we should talk about is the blue ridge. right here. we don't usually zoom in this closely to see topography but this is clear where it is and it will clash with that and have some impact on the actual storm itself to he weaken it a bit. doug: if there is an about watt tornado stretching 80 o to 90 o feet down from the cloud base it will have affect but now there is a hook that is starting to diminish. the influence of that and on our side, eastern side of this we have had the cooler air mass. let's turn the camera to swing to the right. let's walk to the bigger picture and talk about this. to give a big picture view, this is an area of this heavy rain that

and the east of berryville through clark county to jefferson county west virginia. this is moving southeast at 30 miles per hour. it's out of the warning area in 20 to 20 minutes or so, so there are towns in the path. >> bluemont and airmont until 6:30. 13, 15 minutes to go. until it moves through. another thing to note even though the tornado warning and it's a small area this is a prolific lightning maker. we have a lot of lightning strikes out there with the gusty winds and the heavy downpours. it can make it hard to see a tornado. doug: something i am noticing here is in the past 15 minutes watch the number of the lightning strikes and how quickly they diminish. that is a good sign. watch this from the blue ridge and a different air mass on the other side of the blue rage where it is cloudy and cool. that will have an effect -- ou

convection. i would be shocked right now if it kept the intensity all the way across 95 to southern maryland. so the tornado warning has been canceled. we saw evidence of that. of the notch and everything going away so stand down a bit. still severe thunderstorm warning downstream here for a while longer. still have lightning and hail possibilities, especially hail right now on the doppler radar. there is plenty of lightning to the north east and toward brunswick in washington county, maryland. so that one is we are watching now and the southern one, too. no reports of any tornado or high wind issues particularly with that cell. lightning and rained -- and hail as well. steve: rush hour, 95 is super business this time of day and -- super busy this time of day. if you are expecting anyone traveling 95 from triangle or dale city this is what is likely to move your way and will likely slow traffic down significantly in the next hour or so.

representation on the doppler radar of the hook echo and the classics that you need. it has diminished. still severe thunderstorm warning out of the system moving southeast. that will move to the western loudoun county before long. second severe thunderstorm warning until 6:30 or 6:45 now. it has been extended out across warrenton and headed to stafford. and the potomac river. talk about the details. first up there is some detail about the southern system. that is in effect until 6:30. the other in effect until 7:00. the one coming across blue ridge as we speak. front royal just has rain but this has thunder and light anyone and the heavy precipitation to go with it. wind gusts to 60 miles per hour along the front edge as it continues southeast. shortly purcellville and then leesburg at 6:40. eventually sugar land run at 7:o 5. it will get downstream in a hurry. moving southeast at 30 miles per hour.

fair amount of the lightning. not the electrical energy a half hour ago. still a potent storm. it's not far southeast of warrenton. good size hail. quarter-size hail we saw in a note we received a few minutes ago. this system heading southeast at a good clip. if you are downstream to stafford, that is what you will expect to encounter in the next 45 minutes or so. most of the action shifted north and the forecast overnight. the rain will end and we have fog by morning. nice stretch of days ahead. check the next ten out. more storms tomorrow. near 80. 8 o on thursday. friday is 82. friday will stay dry. the chance of rain comes at night. saturday is warmer, afternoon storms. lakelihood of showers and storms on sunday. it will settle down tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday next week. sunshine and temperatures in the 70's.
