>> now abc7 news at noon. adrianna: an update on two d.c. police officers and a d-dot employee injured when a truck crash into them in adams morgan. d.c. police chief speaking an hour ago. and sam sweeney is live in northwest the latest. good afternoon we just got an update from the police chief. he says one of those officers is still in critical condition. they are hoping for the best and are waiting on a prognosis from the hospital right now.

condition. but they're hoping that officer will be released from the hospital either today or tomorrow. the good news is is that traffic already been released from the hospital. this was the scene that unfolded after 9:00 on 18th street in adams morgan. we are told by the police chief this pickup truck was seven cars whend a metro bus apparently for some reason unknown right now it pulled out of that traffic, went up the median and that is when it people,these three including the two police officers. it was a horrible scene. we are told the driver of that metro bus got out and sprinted in the words of the police like he has never seen anyone sprint before and come to the aid of those police officers. ems on the scene within seconds and they rush them to the hospital. that is why the police chief now.they are alive right

the update. the former mayor of fairfax city will spend three months behind bars after being arrested in a meth bust. scotte sentenced richard silverthorne to five years but all but three were suspended. last august silverthorne was arrested for trying to sell meth. his five year sentence was a lot less than the 40 years he was facing. now to the fallout from capitol hill. it was must-see tv, all eyes on the testimony of fired fbi director james comey. comey said the trump administration lied about him and the fbi, something the white house has denied with president trump tweeting that comey was a leaker for the media. the nation continues to react. reporter: it's the case of he said-he said that's captivated capitol hill and the country. >> do you solemnly swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you god? reporter: drama

tic testimony from james comey revealing under oath that he documented conversations with the president out of concern. >> i was honestly concerned he might lie about the nature of our meeting. reporter: revealed he leaked information about the conversations he had with the president after trump tweeted comey had better hope there are no tapes of conversations. >> i asked a friend of mine to share the contents of the memo with a reporter. reporter: not mincing words over why he believed he was fired. >> i was fired because of the russia investigation. reporter: after a long silence, the president punched back on " despite some in a false statements -- total and complete vindication, and wow, comey is aleaker." the one piece of testimony and his lawyer have pointed to as a solid truth that the president was not under sbi investigation. >> i

problems on the roadways for this midday, looking at the capital beltway, we had four accidents within the last hour. all lanes reopened. we continue to see residual delays through bethesda and through greenbelt on the the inner loop.n friday getaway, yes, is in effect. southbound 95 on the brakes. an earlier vehicle fire that has been established. we are looking up volume delays as you head towards occoquan. we're also looking at northbound delays on interstate 95 heading towards the springfield mixing bowl. district or the into georgetown, no issues as you crash the key bridge. traffic in -- as you cross the key bridge. no issues on 394 through arlington. that is the latest from traffic watch.

>> you are watching abc 7 news at noon, on your side. must-see video out of new jersey. a woman with her eyes on her phone falling headfirst into an open cellar. she tumbled 8 feet into a basement over a text message. a worker rush to her aid. she went to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. caught on camera, police officers kicking a man involved in a fiery crash. this happened sunday following a high-speed chase in new jersey. the man police were chasing ran into another leading to that fiery scene. the man escaped from the fire and once the police arrived to the scene, officers apparently began taking and dragging the man.

was not the man they were chasing. that was the man the suspect slammed into. >> it did not look like helpful hand. soon we will go to the process for termination. adrianna: a union representative says the video shows the officers putting out the flames, not kicking and beating the man. in criticalis condition. the man and the high-speed chase is now in police custody. new developments in the bill cosby trial. experts from the 2005 police interview transcript were read to the jury. that interview paints a different story than the one of his accuser andrea constand waht . bill cosby told police she gave of beenve her 1.5 pills a drill and not the three blue pills she described her he also said she was awake and conscious when he made his advances. reporter: chelsea manning sat down for an exclusive interview. >> who is chelsea manning? >> i'm
