the images. we got them from the f.b.i. just minutes ago. now these are the kind of weapons that were used by the gunman james hodgkinson. one is a .9-millimeter handgun and the other is 7.62-caliber rifle. they were purchased legally with a federal permit. they have forensic evidence to connect the weapons with the gunman. back live we just finished a briefing about an hour ago with the hospital officials. they do say that the congressman stap us the has improved. he is still in critical condition. but in better shape. improving but in critical condition. he is under sedation and he is able to understand when people speak to him. he arrived at the hospital in critical condition with imminent risk of death is how the doctors described it. go to the scene in alexandria, back on wednesday. a very difficult day at simpson park in del ray.

congressman scalise hit by a single high rifle round. high caliber rifle round. doctors call it a transpelvic wound. the bullet entered his left hip. and went out the owe side. damaging internal organs. bones and blood vessels. the biggest concern was the loss of blood. you will remember how the congressman lying on the field for several minutes because everyone was pinned down by gunfire. the bullets and the hundreds of fragments they tell us are still inside mr. scalise. doctors say he is critical but his risk of death is now substantially lower. >> the congressman's status remains critical. we are encouraged by improvement in his condition over the last 36 hours. we have controlled the internal bleeding. and his vital signs have stabilize. he will require additional operations to manage abdominal injuries and other bone injuries. >> it's terrible when, you know, your neighborhood is the crime scene and that becomes

the deadlock. the jury asked to review his 2006 testimony about giving quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with. larry: new information on the tragic story in montgomery county. two teenagers gunned down hours before they were supposed to graduate from high school. one of the victims may have known his killer. maryland bureau chief brad bell led our conch on this. brad, you are live at the montgomery county police headquarters. what are they saying now? brad: they need help. they are releasing new information that shows us the crime was more brutal than we knew. two weeks after the brutal murders of two germantown teens there is a new and emotional appeal for information from police and the father of one of the victims. >> the reward is $20,000

for anyone who knows who killed our beautiful young boys. brad: najjar's son died in a hail of gunfire with his friend artem ziberov at 10:42 p.m. on june 5 as they sat in a car in a montgomery village community far from their own homes. police now revealing at least 30 shots for fired from at least two guns. with the victim hits ten and four times. for the first time, police are confirming this was a targeted attack. >> we can't imagine what someone did to deserve this fate. brad: that remains the unanswered question. one of the teens apparently owed somebody money. there had been a previous attempt to collect. publicly the police will say only it is part of the investigation.

nancy: special day at the library of congress as people got a chance to talk to the original wonder woman herself. lynda carter. the 65-year-old access played wonder woman in the 1970's tv series and was at the library of congress to promote the library of awesome exhibit that includes famous comics and graphic novels and the role in culture. larry: all of that coincide with an event drawing superheros around the globe with their fans. we sent our ensuperhero q mccray -- i think he is still super -- to get a firsthand look at awesome con. oh, you have changed. or it was somebody pretending to be you. q: somebody else? what are you talking about, larry? i'm not sure who you are referring to. we are live at awesome con at the walter washington convention center. listen, if you are a fan of science fiction, maybe japanese anime or even "star

that is part of the problem. the rain will stay over one area for a long time and bring heavy rain. take a look outside. talk about the trend for the next couple of days. it is going to feel summer like. today we got to 84. typically 85 is where we land. tomorrow, 88. i think sunday out of the next stretch of five days that is the warmest of all the days. 92. we will have humidity around as well. so i think by the time we get to sunday we could feel at times like 100-plus degrees for the back half of the weekend. so it will be hot for father's day. that is why dads get to chill. monday is 86. that is the next big shot for the widespread showers and the storms. then temperatures level off for tuesday and wednesday. the humidity will be scrushed back so it's going to be more comfortable for next week heading to the start of sum cher happens on wednesday. notice the green areas. these are the flood watches up since earlier this afternoon. a flood watch is a precursor. it happens before a warning. that means hey, be on the lookout.

see some flooding occur. not ongoing right now but could occur. areas in red is where it's actually flooded right now. that includes portions of green, madison county, southern rockingham county and deeper in the valley. that is where the heavy rains have been sitting for last several hours. we have been watching this carefully. below warrenton, but there is really heavy rain. cluster of the heavy showers lifting east/northeast. if it continues to track east/northeast, this could head in our vicinity and our direction as the high pressure moves off the coast, this could move eastward. but i don't know how quickly it will get here. this model by 7:30 and 8:00 some of the heavy showers are moving in here but it has the heavy rain now that is not out here now. we have to continue to watch this. we could see the period of rain off and on that should taper off by tomorrow morning. then in the afternoon tomorrow. should improve somewhat. so for the weekend, yes, we have a mention of the

however, it's limited. saturday, scattered late day storms. don't cancel plans. but you may have to duck inside briefly. 88 tomorrow, heat building. not a bad day to be on the pool. slather on sun screen. father's day is when the heat really starts to crank up. on sunday, temperatures could be in the low 90's. so starting to feel the heat on father's day. on father's day i think the storm chance diminished more so than on saturday. 40% chance saturday to 30-40% chance on sunday. it's not a washout weekend by any stretch of the imagination for sure. but the heat does build as the humidity. by the time we get to monday, 80% chance. that is the widespread chance. the reason why we have something coming through, a big cold front will swing through on monday. that will bring more widespread showers and storms that could linker to early tuesday. tuesday is drying out. less humid. highs on tuesday in the mid-80's. for wednesday,

president trump: i am canceling the last administration's completely one-sided deal with cuba. nancy: president trump in miami announcing major changes to u.s. policy with cuba there. the most noticeable change in all of this is who can go to cuba now. the president says americans can no longer go there for leisure. melissa dipane joins us to explain what else the developing story means. melissa: there has been a huge uptick to travel to cuba since regulations were loosened by the obama administration. american tourists filing for visa can do so for one of 1 the exemptions. but today, president trump is tightening the

nancy: described as ten minutes of terror when a man opened fire on the baseball practice. by the time the gunfire stopped six people were hurt. two critically. many saying if not for two catch to police officers there who fire -- capital police officers who fired back it would have been a massacre. some on capitol hill are pushing to carry their own weapons. >> a growing number of republican lawmakers want to carry guns in the capitol to defend themselves after the shooting at the congressional baseball practice field that left majority whip steve scalise in critical condition. >> if it happened at home in georgia he would haven't gone as far because someone would have had a weapon in their car and do something about it. but here we can't. >> he was on the field when the shooter fired off more than 50 rounds and he wants congress to take up legislation to allow members who have concealed carry permits in the home state to use it in washington, d.c. which has some of the strictest gun laws in the

2011. >> it's the presence of police will deter some people that might think otherwise but otherwise i don't. i just go around with my staff. all the congressmen do. >> they are looking to give capital police more advanced weapons. larry: virginia man will remain in jail pending his next court date in a brawl outside the turkish embassy. he was charged with felony assault in the brawl. a month ago today. a judge ordered him to be held until a status hearing next month. d.c. police filed assault charges against several people. but most of those individuals are turkish security agents who have since returned to turkey. nancy: meantime in london they are storming town hall to demand answers for the deadly high-rise fire. the angry group is wanting to know why more was not done to save lives. the death toll in the apartment fire stands at 30. meanwhile, queen elizabeth a

victims who are homeless. a criminal investigation is underway to figure out what caused the fire. but the police do not believe it was stared deliberatery. larry: checking the top stories, doctors at the med star medical center says steve scalise is still in critical condition. but they are optimistic. he is expected to undergoing more surgeries. crystal griner is still in the hospital as well but she is doing well. nancy: police in montgomery county believe one of the two teens murdered two weeks ago knew the killer. 17-year-old shadi najjar and 18-year-old artem ziberov were shot at least 14 times inside a car in montgomery village. sources say one of the teens owed someone some money. the investigation is ongoing. larry: amazon is entering the grocery store business. they announced a deal to buy whole foods for $13.7 billion. the deal is expected to close by christmas. whole foods no changes will be made to the healthy brand.

nancy: normally "7 on your side" helps you try to get your money back but in the next case when a dentist asked consumer investigator kimberly suiters to get involved with a billing issue, the story took a twist that we did not see coming. kimberly: the doctor may know more about medical bills than mouths. >> i was born with a cleft palate. >> she has had 15 corrective surgeries. the recent one was considered elective, cosmetic. she signed an agreement she wouldn't submit it to insurance she tried anyway and the hospital helped her with the claim. >> i wait a couple of weeks and i call. she said we paid georgetown. i said oh, i didn't hear anything. i

kimberly: to the doctor it looked like the hospital got paid twice. $4,000 from her and additional $13,000 from her insurance company. the doctor pored over the itemized bill. >> they charged for stuff i didn't have done. i didn't have medication given to me or blood transfusion done. >> but the hospital states emphatically there was no fraudulent billing. i gave the doctor a partial refund but declined to go over the codes with "7 on your side," explaining that self-paying patients get a discount. while insurance companies reimburse hospital at predetermined negotiated rate. >> that is part of why the health system is messed up. kimberly: patient advocate elizabeth russell fault her for breaking the billing contact but credits her for breaking open what she calls the bigger story. >> that is what consumers are waking up to, the outrageous, random and the arbitrary numbers that hospital use to charge insurance companies for
