found on the third floor. the mayor said she was deeply saddened to hear the news. she called this fire a terrible tragedy for the district. quoting now, as a community we look to support everyone that is affected and get residents back on their feet as quickly as possible. we are forever grateful for the brave men and women of d.c. loop that their lives on the line to ensure the safety of our community. on theeney has more gruesome discovery. m: family members of the missing man waited all my and all morning for any news. it became hard for this woman to even's day and. just before noon investigators made that gruesome discovery. in the room they believe is the fire room, they discovered a males body. sam: later that man's body was brought out in the

identify it in the street. more than 200 people lost their homes. the fire broke out at 3:00 on saturday morning. firefighters described it as chaos. theeople were coming up window, people were in the hallway and people throughout the building. one fire officials said they saw little children running out looking for their parents. walk and i hadt to help her get out of there because she was struggling to walk out. sam: 55 apartments are destroyed. most of the comes lost everything -- victims lost everything. passports, green cards, everything. they are not letting anybody in the building. sam: the fire chief said the building may never be safe enough for residents to go back in and try to salvage what's left. tear, this apartment complex has hired private security for around-the-clock protection to prevent anyone from looting.

under investigation. kimberly: sam, thank you. we found out that the five injured firefighters were released from the hospital. center cross closed the for the 200 people displaced by the fire. ryan hughes continues our team coverage. what is next for these residents in their recovery? i just spoke with a woman who escape the flames with her mother and five-year-old daughter. they lost everything. these are the stories we are hearing. so many others are spending the night here at the rec center. the red cross is telling us the shelter close down this afternoon and the dems are now are now in local hotels. 45 families have now been moved to three hotels in the area and they are able to stay there for at least a next 30 days.
